Cut-paper commission for busyoldfool Β ! this one took a looong time, and was reeeeeeally big (it takes both hands to pick up!), but it was worth it - it was so much fun to make! (And I finally started watching the Sailor Moon anime, to boot - it's really cute so far.)Related content

I believe the thing that always enchants me the most in your stuff is when you do hair like that. I understand drawing hair like that since I like playing with dynamic long hair with tons of movement in my own work, but the way you not only cut it out of paper but in one single piece just flabbergasts me every time.
Paper cutting as a medium in general is an artistic Rubick's Cube to me, so for me you're like one of those people who can work them in two minutes or something.

Ahh man, I LOVE cutting out hair. It's very relaxing for me! (Although yeah, getting it all in one piece and not accidentally tearing or cutting anything wrong can be a pain.) But I'm very glad you like how I do it! ^__^

where do you get all these paper texture types?

I get my paper from various art supply stores - most art shops will have at least a small selection of decorative papers. You can also find some options online, although admittedly my luck with that has been hit-and-miss.

thanks. i though that you collect these papers from like say a candy wrap, chocolate box, they too have these papers sometimes. like i thought you find them and collect them . i didn't know there were shops that sell these

Oh, I do collect papers from other sources! If something catches my eye and it's for sale or it's complementary, I'll definitely pick it up. But most of my stuff does come from art supply stores.

The hair was really fun! I've been trying to scoot away from straight-up Mucha imitation - it looks super pretty, but it's hard to cut, and in my non-Mucha hands it can end up looking a little stiff. So I've been trying to go for a more "ribbons-like" approach to hair, and I think it's working pretty well. :3
