(Nothing to do with the song in itself, but I was listening to it in a loop while I was drawing the sketch for this pic, and it somewhat sticked to my mood...)
Heiji before his death, taking young Jen away from the sewers where she grew up. Quite a long and complex story, and I don't feel like doing a whole summary of it right now, but... let's say that his aim is to 'kill' her in a way, and he's not intending on letting anyone interfer with his plans...
Got the inspiration from a scene of Meitantei Conan, it fitted so well this part of my lil' story that I couldn't let the idea go away. Ink and markers, with the adding of airbrush for the background. This pic is actually a survivor of the Usual Photoshop Crah Pissed-Offnessβ’, for the soft crashed upon saving and sent the PSD file to oblivion... I had spent more than one hour cleaning the pic (the need to clean due to *coughs* me spilling iced tea all over my desk - and over the pic too, of course, Murphy rules this world, after all), and really didn't have the strength to go through the whole process again. So well, I saved what I could from the flattened image that was left behind... I hope the result isn't too bad.
On a sidenote, I think I'm finally grabbing the chara-design for Heiji. Whee. Maybe he'll stop haunting me now. Or maybe not...

great work. the pose, and look of the people really give the feel that the little girl is quite innocent, and he is trying to protect her. great job. i'm not sure how the feathers tie in, but they sure do look cool floating around. i have a pet bird, so my room looks like that all the time. anyhoo, great werk.

I love the shading on the black. The folds are really nice. And the simple background goes really good with this. The faces are really nice on both of them and the hair is super. Really nice work.

Yza...what can I say? This is my all time favorite. Knowing the backstory, I find this picture so incredible. Jens look, both frightened and trusting...Heiji with the "so?" look. The leaves, the wind in their clothes. It's absolutely fantastic.

The drawing is gorgeous. I usually don't go for Anime, but your have a slightly unique take on things - plus you give the background to your image...so it makes it mean so much more. I can totally see what's happening here, based on the description.

I LOVE THIS. You should outline your work more often. I love the expression on the guy's face and the general mood of the picture... major success with this. I think the guy is perfect. The little girl's body looks a touch awkward, but I'm not sure why, so I won't say that... I love the background too... it's very soft and subtle, yet it ups the mood tenfold. GREAT WORK on this. It's awesome. Good stuff. X3

I really enjoy the dramatic atmosphere of this drawing, the tones, background... However, I can't stop thinking that something is wrong with the little girl's face... I don't know what, but it's not as strong as the other character.

nice smooth detail with the inking. i like the flat coloring too, and how it contrasts with the detail in the hair. the facial expressions are great, he looks so serious and determined, while she seems scared to death and totally trusting him. truly is a powerful image.

This is a nice dramatic piece. The falling leaves are a nice touch. I'm particularly drawn to the way you've inked the black clothes, though, with the light outlines. I imagine it's not the easiest or quickest thing to do. Nice job.
