Description A depiction of the Thrymskvida, the Nordic tale in which Thor disguises himself as Loki in order to recover his stollen hammer Mjolnir. Done for a contest. Oh, and I am aware that Thor had redhair, but I had no good redheaded bearded textures in my runtime.

I know, right? My own personal favorite is the Volsungasaga, which is pretty much the opposite of the Thrymskvida in every way possible.

My favourite is Lokasenna just because Loki is so brilliantly bad in that one ^^

Norse mythology can be creepy as all get out, but it can be hilarious too. Unlike Irish mythology which is just plain horrifying.

Yeah, Celtic mythology is fascinating--just creepy as all get out. I love Norse for the personality, but my favorite is Egyptian for, well, the Egyptian-ness.

Egyptian mythology has fewer stories than Norse mythology, most of which revolve around Isis, Osiris, Set, and Horus. It doesn't help that the gods changed names, qualities, sometimes even genders over the centuries. It's probably more accurite to talk about Egyptian mythologies than mythology. But it's Egyptian, which is enough to spark my interest.

It's less confusing if you approach it by cult rather than as a monolithic whole. Norse mythology represents ~500 years of myths; Egyptian mythology spans over 2000.

Thanks! Yeah, I know Loki disguised himself, too--but fitting one hulking male into a dress was enough of a challenge for one picture.
