Design history:

Mogador was probably the ugliest ship in UEA fleet and oldest one. This anti-fighter-missile (AA) frigate was created to protect larger ships from enemy missiles and fighters. Design was boxy in apearance and was often nicknamed "fat whale" by its crews. However this ship although not designed like luxury cruiser was extremly effective as a defensive ship, many Alliance ships survived during Procyon wars thanks to his anti-air guns. Mogador is capable of landing on planet surface and large cargo bay also have capability for large amount of troops and equipment. Although Mogador is not fast ship, it was capable to outrun any pirate ship in Human space.

Armament and defenses:

Mogador have limited anti-capital capabilities, however recent upgrades added four bow HPC-075 "Aegis" Heavy Plasma cannons "fixed" which gives this old frigate some teeths. Its main weapons and defensive system is large array of Plasma pulse-beam cannons which serves as main offesnive and defensive weapons. During Procyon wars this weapons were used with great efficency against Arkos fighters and bombers.

Service history:

As been one of oldest ships in service, Mogador frigates saw lots of action. Their first test was first Procyon war, unfortunatley from 120 ships of this class that was stationed in Procyon sector, 87 was lost, 114 was lost during the second Procyon war, and 64 during Kalian incursion. In 2287 Alliance sold 70 ships, 50 to Federation which used them as patrol frigates and 20 goes to private sector as defense and cargo ships.

After Kalian incursion majority of survivors was retired, however they were reactivated when Triad invaded Human space. Survivors remain in service as patrol ships. Class was replaced by more modern frigates between 2270-2330 from first line ships.
