Description
As mentioned before , the double-decker trains with class 146 locomotives on the RE1 regional express line from Aachen to Hamm via every important place in the state of Northrhine-Westphalia are on their way out. They would have been completely out already, but driver training for their replacements was slowed down due to Coronavirus, so for now they retain still operate roughly half of the trains on the line. The current plan is that they'll be completely gone by December 2020.

Interestingly, things did change for them, though: As far as I can tell some or all of the trains on the line were turned around and now have the locomotive at the western "Aachen" end, instead of the eastern "Hamm" end. My guess is that this is more convenient for whatever services they'll operate next after this. For the record, I have no idea what those will be.
