ZCochrane — It's an Over-Exposed World by-sa

Description Winter is funny. You look at the screen of your camera, at the picture you've just taken, and think "damn, this is over-exposed". Then you look up again at the actual scene and realize that actually, the picture is too dark. Nevertheless, I did make this even darker, hope you don't mind.

Train RE 3609, a Regional Express from Hanover to Halle (Saale), is leaving Goslar station right on time. It is composed of two class 612 sometimes-tilting DMUs. If I heard correctly, it's a jackscrew in the tilting mechanism that's likely to break this time, so again, they're at normal, slower, non-tilting operation. Other of their flaws include the unpractically steep staircases, the high level of noise inside and dust bins that will start to rattle loudly at engine RPMs, but I still really like them, in no small part because (unlike all other regional trains) they have tables at the seat, which makes it possible to use your laptop, for example to edit and write comments for pictures you have just taken while waiting for the RE 3608 to Hanover (five minutes delay, but reaching the ICE 950 to Cologne ought to be no problem at all).

At the moment, Goslar still has classic semaphores, three different types of which you can see here. Their days are numbered, though, as Goslar is going to be connected to the ESTW (translates to Electronic Signal Box) in Göttingen, which normally means new light signals.

Despite the darkening, this is still a pretty good shot.

Thank you! If I had left it as it was, it would have just appeared too white, I think.

Thank you for the new s as well!
