Description
One of the remarkable things about being human is this window of understanding we're allowed to look through to see the world. I think we all convince ourselves that window is not as tiny as it is. I think we fall in love with the illusion of control. We use it to see ourselves flung into exotic new mindscapes and boggling realities. But at the end of the day, like water, we flow back to where we came from, and there's not stopping it.Related content

I really like this shot
When I look at this for any length of time I find that the water starts to flow in both directions, away as you would expect but also towards me! I think it's to do with the long exposure turning the water into what looks like vapour, which can of course rise against the action of gravity. Either way it's the foreground movement that really makes this work for me

Thanks for the comment. I think you're right on all counts, the water is coming at you and receding all at the same time... a phenomenon I neglected in my interpretation of the photo... I'll have to reassess
