This series reminds me so much of Jane Lindscolds -"Brother to Dragons, Companion to Owls."
It's almost eerie that some of the elements from this story and the novel occur in real life, such as the study of "Magic Thinking," "Personal Myth," and others. I don't want to think that a person like Ms. Betzen exists; unfortunately, I have seen subtle revelations in real life that allude to her existence somewhere. This is such a great story, so far!

It's actually a myth that cats always land on their feet.
It takes a cat an average of 13 seconds to realize it is falling, and to put its body in a perfect posture for landing safely, meaning it has to be a drop even higher than the empire state building, witch takes 8.5 seconds to fall from its top to the ground.
Basically she would need a drop double the hight of the empire state building, supposing she'd fall 52.1 meters per second, she'd need to have a fall that lasts 17 seconds and is the hight of 884 meters to survive.
I did the math, and research.. And this is based on facts..
