Story:

Riley asked Lia if she felt like taking a walk along the lake like they used to do to relax sometimes. Since they hadn't done so in quite a while, Lia happily agreed and linked arms with him, smiling. Finally destiny seemed to have mercy and spent its time elsewhere rather than putting obstacles in their way.
Along the way they were talking about quite random things, not work, not responsibilities, only something to relax. And when they walked past the first trees of the forest Lia got a gorgeous childish thought. She quickly let go of Riley's arm and ran towards the first higher tree. "FIRST ONE TO THE TREE TOP", she yelled and giggled at the same time and started climbing it as fast as she could, just like in old childhood days.
Riley raised a brow but a smile appeared on his lips. "Fine." He chased after her and with barely any effort swung himself onto the nearest branch, taking a moment to look at Lia who was still ahead of him. But. He wasn't really making a lot of effort to catch up either and simply relaxedly remained sitting on one of the upper branches which were intertwining with Lia's tree.
A little out of breath Lia reached the top of her tree and looked down to search for Riley and spotted him sitting there some branches below her. "Hey, that's not the top yet!"
"I know", Riley smiled and got up, lifting himself up another branch. "You won."
"You're weird", she giggled and got a few branches lower again and lied down on one, grinning at her man.
"I know", he repeated and sat down, gently brushing his thumb along her cheek. "I guess I've just let you wait too long."
"...huh. You're not making sense, sweetheart", she giggled again, trying to make sense out of this man - like so often.
He let go of her cheek to get something from his pocket and she couldn't quite see what it was as he hid it with his hands. But then she saw it and held her breath, surprisedly looking between Riley's white eyes and the little thing he had just taken out. A golden engagement ring.
Riley was smiling and gazed into her eyes. "Lia, will you be my wife?"
Lia almost struggled to find enough breath to speak her answer: "YES, one million times; yes!" She let out a joyful giggle and stretched as far as she could because she felt the desperate need to kiss him, yep. Of course he leaned in to it and gently took her hand to put the ring on it and squeeze it lovingly. Even though they had been a couple for so long and Riley knew she loved him, too, very much indeed, he only now noticed how relieved he suddenly felt when she spoke her answer. He felt so lucky to be with her, in this moment and in future, too. He couldn't bear the thought of losing her, ever. She had been there for him in his very darkest of days just like in his brightest. She surely turned his life upside down, made it more difficult and easier at the same time. And even if she doesn't remember most of it, Riley will never forget.

side note to the last sentence; Jack deleted her memory once so that she doesn't remember Riley or anything she had done in the time of them being a couple, but they later met again after Riley had escaped and even if he tried his best not to; fell for her again.
