Update: 7/29/15
-The final update for Zylen, here's a colored version of him. After the end of the rebellion, Zylen would probably be forced to go back to school by his father. I'm pretty sure after the Azura reveal he'd just shut himself inside of a room or a boxing ring.

His fighting style is based on the common left-handed boxing stance, Southpaw. Zylen tries hitting hard and fast and despite enjoying a fight, tries to end a battle fast since he can't take multiple hits very well. Since he can throw fast punches, Zylen often throws a lot of quick jabs before catching his opponent off guard with a hard punch.

In normal situations, Zylen is a serious yet fairly approachable person. He’ll usually keep up a conversation until he gets bored. However, the boy can become enraged or excited at the drop of a hat, especially when in a competitive setting. Even when he's not angry, Zylen tends not to think situations through and listens to his gut instinct much more than his brain. The teenager finds it boring and hard to stay in one place and almost always tries doing anything to stay in motion. If he's forced to stay still, Zylen becomes agitated and even a bit sarcastic. While Zylen is able to make friends, because of his background, the boy finds it hard to make intimate relationships with other people since he's afraid of losing them.

Despite his shortcomings, Zylen is an honest and hard working person who will do whatever needs to be done with vigor. He is quick to protect his allies and friends with everything he's got and won't shy away from dangerous situations. In a fight, Zylen gets a rush of adrenaline and euphoria and will never go easy against his opponents. When he’s not training, the boy can usually be found eating practically anything. Not a picky eater at any stretch, the sapphire boy will eat anything if he’s told its food. However, if Zylen knows he’s fighting soon, the boy will be very self-conscious of his weight and will diet because of an acquired habit from boxing.

Background Information:

For most of his life Zylen lived with his single father and his older brother. Because Zylen's father worked multiple jobs, he usually didn't come back home until just before curfew. As a result, Zylen's brother acted as the motherly figure of the family and took care of Zylen and all of the housework like cooking. The brothers became almost inseparable, and Zylen, terrible at academics, often relied on his brother to tutor him.

To Zylen, the best thing about school was boxing. After joining the team during his freshman year of high school, the sport quickly became a part of his daily life. The boy started doing things like jogging and parkour to cross train for boxing, and the quiet boy slowly became more social and made friends within his team. After improving and becoming a much better boxer, Zylen felt much more content with his life than he had before. Each match exhilarated him and always made him forget his troubles. His smart older brother was accepted into a college with tuition to study engineering, and Zylen's life went by without many hitches. Then his junior year happened.

After coming back home from school one afternoon, Zylen was surprised to see his father back home; he was never home so early. As anticipation grew in the boy, Zylen sat down next to his father, wanting an explanation for his appearance. That was when he learned that his brother was infected with Color Syndrome. When Zylen asked what happened to his sibling, his father remained silent.

The day Zylen lost his brother, the boy became a raging storm of anger. He was angry at everyone and everything. He pushed away most of his friends and his boxing style became even more aggressive than before. Using the sport as a way to cope, Zylen's life became even more centered around boxing to the point where it bordered obsession. Zylen continued training and training, and became frustrated whenever he made mistakes. His grades started to slip, and the boy barely avoided getting kicked off of the team. After a while, his anger managed to mostly dissipate, but Zylen was never truly the same as before. He continued to get better at boxing, but Zylen was so focused on the sport he often neglected spending time with his buddies. However, his pals managed to drag him outside of the ring to hang out from time to time (mostly by bribing him with food). After a day of messing around and eating with his friends, Zylen was on the way home when he noticed a woman walking erratically out of a nearby alleyway as if intoxicated. As he tried walking around the lady, Zylen was spotted and was quickly approached by her.

The first thing Zylen noticed was the neon pink color staining her clothes and hands. Since it was the first time he ever saw color, the boy’s eyes were transfixed on the blood. He was surprised and fascinated at how beautiful the color looked.

Preoccupied by the color, Zylen's trance was only broken when the woman grabbed his wrist, pleading for help. Her eyes and desperation scared the boy, and Zylen quickly pried the woman off and ran the long way back to his house, making sure he wasn’t followed. Even though Zylen took a thorough shower to wash off the colored blood, he felt feverish and sickly. He knew he caught it, the same disease that took his brother away from him.

Zylen cursed his luck-what would he say to his dad when he saw him? After seeing the color spread on his body, Zylen felt the slightest bit happy at seeing the vibrant sight again. However, the sapphire-colored boy felt he had to do something and fast. In a panicked state of mind, Zylen followed his instincts and covered up his infected body areas before running away from his house. He was too nervous to see his father’s face one last time and try to explain what happened to him. The confused sapphire colored boy continued to run away despite knowing no one was chasing him-the time was well past curfew, so he thought of finding somewhere safe to hide to avoid the pending punishment.

After what seemed like an eternity, the exhausted Zylen finally collapsed in an alleyway, his panic starting to dim. The teenager was still resting when he heard footsteps. With his clothes tainted with color and his energy completely spent, the boy waited for his fate, expecting Gray Army soldiers to find him. However, Zylen found out the footsteps belonged to twins-both of them infected.

“Oh, you’re one of us too!” one of them flashed a grin at the shocked teen. “Have you heard of Kaleidoscope before?”

Whew, I have a lot more time to work on this app than in the first opening. I'm really happy that I've been improving my drawing and writing skills (or I think so at least). I based his design a bit on one of my friend's clothes, so thanks to them! This group is so interesting, just writing this app was fun in itself ^w^. Anyway, I hope you like it~
