Brightspirit originally was the warrior name of a fan; she was killed... so Erin Hunter put Brightspirit in her book in memoriam to her.

Ferntail was my name; people just call me Fern or Ferneh there. I don't know you or remember you from the guild... and I was there... back in 2008, so I've forgotten a lot. I'm still in the guild as a user, mariahmt, but I'm inactive in Neopets altogether, although I'm still in touch with other members via deviantart (I'm sure you could infer that, lol). I think Zephyr could also be Blazeh's actual name, but that's just me guessing according to her account here. I just picked up Zephyrkit for dA. There's also a Zephyr-kit here on dA that I didn't know existed, nor does she have anything to do with me... oops.

Wands and Worlds actually gave Emmy and her parents their warrior names after they died; we all were touched by their story and wanted to honor them. Vicky decided to use the names we made for them as a tribute, and so included them in the book.
