Not to bash Toriel, but wouldn't she no longer be queen, and thus meaning that Asgore could very well order her to stay behind since she ran away from him after Asriel & Chara's demise?

Good point! Hm. Monster souls are made of love, hope, and compassion; so I think (at least as far as my headcanon is concerned) that it would come more naturally to Asgore to try and forgive her. Or, perhaps, he may think that he has nothing to forgive her for. She ran away true, and I definitely think that was wrong of Toriel. She should have stayed with her husband, despite what he had done, and attempted to sway him to better methods. He would have done a lot better had she been there. So, I am not defending Toriel. Asgore, however, might very possibly blame himself for her leaving. This would fall in step with his character, as he seems to take his decisions heavily upon his shoulders. Therefore, he probably would except Toriel back into monster society without question, and perhaps feeling privileged that she would even want to be rear him at all. Self-blame can have a very warping affect on a humans soul, perhaps even more so on a monster's. (not to say that asgore is innocent in this matter either.)
As to Toriel still having the title of queen...Hmmmmm. Had to think on this one a bit more. ^^ Perhaps she never truly stopped being queen? Like, though she left Asgore, she was still born of royal blood, and though she wanted nothing to do with him, she was still his wife. It might not be a title that can be votes out and taken away, so much as it is something relating to her lineage and to her marriage with Asgore. Separated though they were, they weren't technically divorced or anything. Asgore is still king, and Toriel is still a queen, whether or not she is his or not.
Whew! That was fun! Headcanoning is all cool in theory, but I haven't got any facts, so take it with a grain of salt. Thanks for bringing up this fascinating line of thought!

I thought the surface sickness was from the surface not having as much magic as what they'd grown used to. How is there an antidote to that? It's not like they're poisoned or anything.

Good question! And I had to do some serious thinking on that one. Here's what I came up with:
Yes, the illness is due to lack of extra magic that they always had in the Underground, a sort of "withdrawal" if you will. But how it works is this:
Say you have a monster (we'll use Sans as an example). He's lived under the mountain and within the Barrier his whole life, his body accustomed and adapted to the extra magic trapped underground with him. Then, BOOM, Barrier's gone, and suddenly that extra magic is gone. Sans's body/soul's reserves are now still trying to draw the same amount of magic from his surroundings, but because it isn't there it starts drawing weaker magic from Sans himself. In other words, it's almost like Sans's body and soul, in order to survive, are consuming their own energy. This creates a sort of poisonous reaction, that spreads through the monster and causes things like weakness, lack of sleep, and tiredness. "Antidote" fits Alphys attempts in that it should counteract the "poisonous" chemical reaction in the body by providing a substitute for the magic that's absent. At least until monsterkind can start to get over their withdrawals and adapt to the Surface ^^

So the antidote is really a magic substitute for monsters until they can adjust. Okay. Thanks for explaining.

I have to wonder if Asgore kinda wants to consider Frisk his child as well, not entirely sure how long Frisk has actually been in his remembered life at this point. I mean he kinda adopted the entire underground, so it's not out of the realm of plausibility.
That said, Toriel was always his rock, and to have that so close and so far can't make this any easier.

Yes, that's exactly what the weatherman called it, a "snow tornado" or something like that. though, pwersonally, I think he was over reacting a little. Yes, it's windy, but not THAT windy ^^
Yikes! That must be scary. I have nightmares about tornados sometimes. My father, when he was a kid, lived in tornado valley. He remembers some pretty horrific stuff. *shiver* Stay safe my friend!

snow tornados are possible but they are very rare, same with fire torandos since a tornado needs heat and cold to really work
