I don't like people being overly thin either, but I think you're being kind of harsh in the way you talk about it. Anorexia is a really serious illness that kills people all the time, it's not these peoples fault that they get so thin, they're ill. These people are NEVER happy with the way they look when they're in the grips of the illness, so saying horrible things about the way they look, and that they think they look beautiful strikes me as really insensitive and pretty ignorant also. So manny people die from eating disorders like anorexia and you're making fun of them and talking about it as if these people could help being ill.
Also, the girls right leg is out of proportion at the top.

Yeah... sorry for being kind of bitchy about it... >.> I'm glad your opinion has changed though, and I hope that your friends are doing okay... I totally agree with you on the sick society front though, it's really wrong...
Um, well, tbh it's still a pretty cool drawing, like I said, I was just being a bit tetchy cause of the whole anorexia thing... But yeah... and also, OMG!! You like my username! yay! My friend made sooo much fun out of me for my name! ahaha! Yeah, it's a song by the Ramones... know it? Have a great day!

Yes. I'm worried for her. But do I say something? What do I say? But I think she's facing her demons now so I hope everything works out soon.
Yes, for a style I was trying for a first time, I was quite pleased with the result. Still am a little.
Yes! That's where it was from. I was trying to remember. Thanks for reminding me. Take care!

hi hi! Sorry I took so long replying. As you can probably tell, I don't get on this very often.
Yeah. She gets thinner every time I see her. I don't know what to do.
I'm not sure what wheatpasting is. But yeah. I used to draw really really tiny onto my sketchbook, then I got a big one and it was hard drawing bigger, and then I got a tablet and it's hard drawing on a computer. Everything takes getting used to, but it'll look nice once you're through with that stage. Don't get discouraged!

She's finally getting help, fortunately. But she's still getting thinner and thinner. I only see her once a month, around that much?
Oh that's pretty cool. So how does that work? Design things on paper and then blow it up and paint it on the walls with paint? Or design it on paper then blow it up and then print it on special paper and then stick it on the wall?
No problem on both counts! That was a cool piece. Despite the fact that I get side-tracked with details on my pieces, I really enjoy looking at simple pieces like yours.

That's good... I really hope that she will get better...
Ah, well in a way that's quite useful because you can notice a change in a persons appearance much easier when you don't see them everyday...?
The second one, it's on paper and just stick it onto a wall or whatever. It's called a wheatpaste 'cause most people use a flour based glue (like wallpaper paste...?) to stick the stuff up... The person whos link I sent you doesn't blow up his stuff, he just draws it that big and then pastes that up, that's what I do too, because I am rubbish with computers... >.>
Thank you, yeah... I just wanted to paint something simple like that one day, so I did that... Generally my stuff is a lot sketchier, and not half that clean... Pencils don't seem to like me these days so I end up using an orange pen instead, and then once I've gone over it and done the detail in a dark pen, I end up with a rather dramatically sketchy drawing, .

It's true. I hope she notices, though. But she let me know that she's making progress recently, so I'm quite happy.
That is pretty cool. But does it get washed away when it rains?
That's an interesting technique. Pencils are good for "proper" art like portraits and still-art but I find it smudgy and a bother to use for informal art like cartoony stuff, which is what I usually do. I've been really liking ball-pointed pen these days, though it's mostly doodles anymore when I'm using traditional media.

Yeah, I think so.
Oh, that's pretty cool. I think I saw them on Pictures For Sad Children. I wasn't sure what they were at the time, but.
Now, I do. I used to do a lot of pencil/ink stuff, but I'm so lazy that I don't like scanning them in so they don't get uploaded. I also used to do some painting, but those are even more rare because I don't like getting the paint out, the cleaning afterward, and there's pretty much no way to upload them in high rez unless I want to invest in a good quality camera as well.

Pictures for Sad Children confuses me. I think I'm not smart enough to get it.
Yeah, it was hard. I'm sure I can change the settings but I couldn't figure out how to change the sensitivity and it registers even the smallest tremor in my hand... and I can't draw where I'm drawing, obviously. And my computer is wide-screen while my tablet is normal so I couldn't even trace my art since it'll make it wider than it actually is. x_x so my coping strategy is to whip my pen very very fast so that the computer has no time to register my tremors and do a lot of undos in order to be accurate. x_x

Thank you for your comment. This was drawn... lessee... 4 years ago, and well, unfortunately, I know people who suffer from anorexia now, and fortunately, my opinion has changed since then. However, I still think that it's sad that there are men who think girls like these are attractive and girls who think they have to aspire to look like this because it's what people find attractive, and I think it's an indication of a sick society.
And thank you also for the criticism on my piece. Again, it was drawn 4 years ago, and I was trying out a new style, so I realize there are many, many flaws (like her hands. Her right hand is bigger than her left despite being closer to us. And her left shoulder looks like it's fallen out of her socket, too). I doubt that I'll redo it any time soon since I do have quite a bit of projects on my plate right now and I'm ever so slow at drawing, but when I do get a round tuit (ahaha), I'll keep that at my forefront.

I know just how you feel.
I've got nothing against girls being slightly skinny, with the right clothes it looks good.
But I think really REALLY anorexicaly skinny girls just look silly. Honestly, you don't want to walk past them incase the slight gust of wind snaps them.
But, I love this piture, very well drawn ^w^

annorexia is a mental disease...
that's why they think it's attractive
and in most cases it's not completely about trying to become attractive
It's about control
They may tell themselves that they're doing it because they're fat and dont want to be anymore...but behind that explaination it all comes back to control
