Created from scratch with the Intuos2, I really just let this picture take its own shape. I just wanted to capture a mood; a feeling of warmth and of a day finishing complete and satisfied. Also it was a good excuse to practice with the tablet because I'm still finding my way with that. Its a completely new way of working for me.Other than that the image is open to interpretation from each viewer. I used oil painting techniques that I used to use to get a more impressionist feel to the piece, so theres a lot less sharpness and focus on one particular area which allows for the viewer to loose themselves in the image as a whole, well thats the idea anyway.
Original image is 2400x3600 for print purposes, so a lot of the details are lost at 1600x1200, but it still makes for a great WP.

Very warm and peaceful...though the sci-fi fan in me wants to see starships cruising by or something. I really do like this though, perhaps because of the colors, as I'm a big fan of the warm end of the spectrum. Mainly because I see it clearly...I'm cool-end colorblind, which kinda sux as an artist. The tablet is serving you well though! There are some parts of this that I kinda wish were sharper, like the edges of the clouds. And I'm not 100% sure about the whispy white lines in the darker areas...kinda gives it a feeling of fleshiness, like lips, I know thats weird but that was my first thought and I often like to share my first thought of another persons art because it may give the artist an idea of what kind of emotions and feelings and thoughts their work evokes in viewers. Hurry up and make the print available so I can put this on my wishlist. Its colors would warm up my game room a LOT.

thats good. it looks either like a sunset or a nuclear explosion... it lies in the eye of the beholder if this pic represents the end or a new beginning. excellent digital drawing job here

I love the shading on the clouds. And the whole thing looks so calm, and has such a warmth, though it makes me feel a bit cold.
this feels as if this is something that is everywhere around us, but one of the wonders that we can not get a hold of.

On a second view, I think I know what made me feel cold. It looks like a huge explosion. One that could wipe out whole continents. damn thats scary, first it looked so beatiful, and now it looks so devastating. think Ill fav this actually.
