which window? the layers dialogue? that should be listed under the "windows" drop-down list, which is along the same line of buttons as File and Edit...
did you make sure that next to each name of every layer/frame, (replace) is written? make sure that it has the brackets.

okay, i think i didnt make that clear... you choose the two colours you want, background+foreground separately.
then you drag a line across the image: the starting point is the foreground colour, and the ending point the background. If you want the gradient colour-transparency, have the colour you want in the forground on your toolbox, and in the options below for the gradient there'll be a little image of the type of gradient you'll get.
click on it, and it'll have a list of other gradients. you select the one that goes to transparency.
in another option below, you select the shape: go for "radial".
then, depending on whether you want colour in a circle fading out or a transparent circle going to colour, you click [or don't click] "reverse" [or a little box next to it, which will have a tick in it. i'm not sure which.]
now experiment!
=]
feel free to ask anything else. i like to know where i need to add more detail.

well, you should have it at 100x50px, i only said start with 1000x500 so that it's easier to get in detail. try that first.

Ok...so should I try to shrink it down to 100x50px then? What if it's too squished?

that depends... are you wishing for a stamp, group-sized avvie, or just an animation? because that's about the size you get if you do. if you want, save it as it is, and save the 100x50 as a copy [so like, add some random numbers to the second save as ^_^] then if you dont like it you still have the original. i do that a lot.

It WAS going to be a stamp but I don't like working with too much detail; making the outer edge work. My head can only take so much detail consentration these days. Not like I used to.
Ok I'll try to upload it to a size 100x50 to see if it works.

they have bases on da. if you wanted, you could just download one, add it to your image via "open as layer", and... oh, it gets more complicated from thereon. meh.
it should.

Hey, I'm cool with questions!
So, in the toolbox, we have selected the brush, yes?
Below the tools in the toolbox, is a box of options. there, one should say "pressure sensitivity" or something like that. to the left of that is a little image, a plus sign, i think. click on it, so that it changes to a minus. underneath should appear a selection of 9 boxes, in a 3x3 arrangement. those are you selections. Click on what you want, and if your unsure, click whatever and experiment. this method always works!
You make me smile. have a virtual cookie.
