Description I thought I use the nice weather and make new shots of my papercrafts in the garden.

______
I modified a 3D model made fav.me/d3k5wig so that I could make a papercraft out of it.

It is made out of 70 pages of 300 g/m2 paper, the paper was 32x45 cm

The finished model is 127 cm tall, that is 50 inches, or 4 feet 2 inches...

As I promised, you can download all 70 pages I did for this model, so you can do it yourself.
Download rar: www.dropbox.com/s/e00n5qzpk7xd…
Download zip:
www.dropbox.com/s/hlsjmt9f3hks…

To make it even easier for you to look up where every part belong, download the free "Pepakura Viewer" from www.tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura-en… and open this file www.dropbox.com/s/i7mg4miw0dhi… within this viewer, it helps a lot.
"....." are valley folds /
"-----" are montain folds /

It takes more time then skill... it took 250+ hours.
If you want to do it yourself, you can ask me for advice and I try to help you.

Sidenote: One of my kids is now on deviantart as well, it's (mostly Danganrompa art) can be found here:

Luna was my first real project, since everything was new to me folding and painting her took something between 120 to 160 hours. Meanwhile I have transformed her into a garden statue because of lack of space (All in my gallery), I made Derpy, Dashie, Pinkie and low poly models of Trixie and Vinyl. I build a lifesize upper torso of one of my twin daughters and working on the second. I'm unsure what will be next, depends on the 3D models I can get as well... I would like a cool Chrysalis model, but maybe Hatsune Miku... so many possibilities. Writing my fanfiction takes time too, I never expected people would love my writing as well.

Since she is to big for the living room, soon she will be just there outside in the garden.
I will waterproof her with "acylic one" and glass fibre, turing her into a statue after this repainting her with acrylic paint.

Znegil In reply to LunatheTimelady [2014-07-16 13:11:04 +0000 UTC]

Look in the description, there is a link to download the free program "Pepakura Viewer" and the .pdo file you can open with this viewer.
It will look like this: znegil.deviantart.com/art/Pepa…
you can move the whole model around, click on pieces to see where they fit, you see what fold connects to what part, it is a GREAT program, that helps a lot.
Or maybe, you load the .pdo file into your T.A.R.D.I.S. , I bet she can give you a holografical picture of the model

Foxhatart [2014-05-24 15:45:15 +0000 UTC]

This is amazing you must have a large house to fit her in . I did have a go at making her a slightly smaller version though as I printed it on A4 paper, she's not as good as yours but I still had fun making her. I just have no where to put her now thank you for sharing the model

Znegil In reply to Foxhatart [2014-05-25 02:12:02 +0000 UTC]

Hey, great.
Post a picture of her.
Luna is to big for my house too now,
so she is in cellar in the moment, but pinkie and Derpy are in our livingroom.
But I don´t like her to be there in the dark,
so one of my next projects will be to strengthen her with glas-fiber and  "acylic one".
This should make her resistend like stone and after that I will paint her again with acylic paint and put her into the garden, where she can stand in the sun and watch over our house

Foxhatart In reply to Znegil [2014-05-25 11:21:24 +0000 UTC]

foxhat94.deviantart.com/art/Lu… This is my Luna. She's only made of 120gsm paper so she's too fragile to do anything else with but putting her in the garden sounds really cool She will make a great protector of your house

Znegil In reply to Foxhatart [2014-05-25 18:14:10 +0000 UTC]

Hey, you done great.
Maybe you could use acrylic paint to paint her... but I am not sure if the paper is strong enough.
If you want to try it, apply a very thin layer of paint first (thin as in very little paint, do not make the paint thinner)
after drying the paper is protected from getting wet, so you can apply a thicker layer.

Foxhatart In reply to Znegil [2014-05-25 19:26:09 +0000 UTC]

Thank you and thank you for the advice.
I don't think I'll try to paint her though, I'm not very good at painting and if I ruin her I'd probably cry
If I ever get the chance I might make her again with the proper weight of paper and I'd try to paint that version

Znegil In reply to Foxhatart [2014-05-27 00:29:11 +0000 UTC]

That is a nice Idea.
Painting is easy, since you have anything already printed on the paper, it is like "painting by colors"

Maybe 20-25 pages?

Tielestr [2014-03-23 11:41:04 +0000 UTC]

Can you  make "blueprint" for Luna a bit smaller? With exactly same shape and details, but in lesser scale. From 70 pages to 12 or something like that?

I have some expierence in the papercraft (almost done this: xenonray.deviantart.com/art/Ta…
And i would like to make my very own Luna. But her size confused me.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Znegil In reply to Tielestr [2014-03-24 11:04:58 +0000 UTC]

There are different ways to do this,
you could just print 4 pages per sheet of paper, all print programs have this funktion normally.
Or open the .pdo file with "pepakura Designer" (not Viewer), click on the "undo unfold" button and follow this tutorial I made some time ago: youtu.be/1H9S1qxdxeg
this way you can make the model any size you want on any paper you want.
I advice to use thick paper (300 g/m² is best)

AWE-SOOOOOOME

But you know what you should do, what would this thing make truly epic?

1. Finish it with a GRP (glass-fibre reinforced plastic) coating
2. smooth down the surface
