Description We had to illustrate a Grimm story in school, I got 'the golden bird'.. Never drawed anything like this before, was kinda fun.

I realized too late that I maybe should have put that bird on the left side instead. :C

used a texture from `Princess-of-Shadows

EDIT: Added a feather on the left side. Does it work?

Gorgeous colors and details! I really like how you have the fox, bird and feather in the frame and how the tree roots are gripping the edge!

Wowww! This is so different from your normal style of colouring and drawing. It's gorgeous, I must say.

The feather I think definitely helps with the fact that it's a little unbalanced. I think it happens to make the 'framing' a little more crowed, but I think the feather was a good choice.
I must say you merged the colours together really well; your eye can follow from oranges to reds to greens, etc very easily.

Thank you very much! Yes, I really had to draw in something there and a feather was all i could think of soo!

Oh, but I cheat a lot with photoshop though when it comes to colourpicking. Trying to learn how to choose good colours on my own way, though!

Really? Well whatever you're doing works great. I use Photoshop and have no idea how to even 'cheat' colours that well, lol.

I think the feather is a great idea! It's big for the necessity of balance, but the only drawback is that now you can't see quite as much of the beautiful storybook picture.

This is absolutely breathtaking. I love it! And with regard to the animal-placement -- I think that, depending on which side of the book this page was on, it could be all right. You wouldn't want either of those beautiful creatures hidden in the crevasse between pages.
