# About me
Oh, hello! I'm Ben, Benjamin Joseph Kuniyoshi White if you're not into the whole brevity thing, BJK White if you're somewhere in the middle, and I'm the indie author of such least-selling books as Charlotte Powers: Power Down (superheroes), The Undying Apathy Of Imogen Shroud (zombies), Miya Black, Pirate Princess (pirates, princesses), Resonance: Birds Of Passage (dark ensemble superpowered fantasy thing) and a couple more besides. All of my books fall squarely into the sub-sub-genre of 'Girls Kicking Arse', and I'm comfortable calling them YA (for young adults of all ages) (and it's just amazing how old some young adults can be, these days). If you're interested in checking out my books, head on over to my web page (link below) and poke around a bit.# Comments

I want to be an author myself, I am writing a story about a world in which animals can assume human form and interbreed with each other and with humans as well, any tips on getting it published?

Seeking honest criticism from people who know what they're talking about is probably the most important thing. Keep writing and writing and writing and writing (and absorbing as many books, TV shows, movies, games etc as you can). Other than that, once you feel (and have been told) that your story is ready, publish it yourself! Get it edited, put a good cover on it, write an enticing blurb and put it out there. David Gaughran's blog is a good place to start for more info: [link]

I have learned a lot more about writing from writing fanfiction than I have from my college english classes. And also from the videos that I make on YT -- I dub cartoons to make them really funny and more adult, and I've got loads of fans!

I would actually like to see those dubbed videos.

[link] my YT page. I make an abridged version of the Alvin and the Chipmunks cartoon, but the dubbed storyline is more adult, comparable to Family Guy.

Yep, actually doing something is the best way to get better at it And if you've got a following already, of whatever kind, then self-pubbing makes even more sense. Built-in fanbase! That'll give you a boost right out of the gate!

So I can really promote myself just by playing around on the computer all day putting my fanwork (and some of my original work) out there? Good to know. And Daddy thinks I'm wasting my time making videos and fanfiction... well maybe one day I can publish my sad little life story...

That's the best kind of promotion! It all comes down to exposure and love, the more people who are exposed to your work and the more people who love your work the better. In any case, I don't think anything's a waste of time if you're having fun

I most certainly agree.
I just wish it were as easy to get exposure in the physics world (I am a physics major, currently withdrawn from a community college that I found frustrating and utterly incompatible with my personal educational goals).
