No problem, I'm also wondering if you know of any places that would sell the Utah orange or the honey ice alabaster in Canada? Also for carving the alabaster it is a lot harder than soapstone so what tools do you recommend (I know a die grinder would work but I don't have a compressor, so what hand tools would work?) And last question how do you carve out the hollowed areas like in your paperweight series?
You have great pieces, I look forward to seeing more.
Cheers

i had mine shipped from kansas by a guy named Myles at 2sculpt.com. Shipping ends being almost as expensive as the stone itself, but it's the only lead i've got. Most alabasters can be easily carved using chisels dsigned for wood. Thats what i use. Most paperweights were drilled using an electrical drill with reinforced drill bits, titanium or carbide tipped. All of my pieces take considerable time working with rough rasps before moving onto sanding. Hope i nswered your questions. Thanks for the compliments.

That answers my question perfectly, I'm just starting with stone sculpting and over the summer I do hope to do some more but I dont have access to a shop so the best I can do is to use chisels like you said. Thank you for the tips, I'll let you know once I have finished a piece. Thanks for the help and good luck with your work.
