# About me
My artwork shows contemporary life as it is without emphasising the beautiful. I am intrigued by everyday objects that are not primarily associated with attractiveness. I concentrate on objects which are familiar but often overlooked.I paint from my perspective as a young female living in Australia in the early 21st century. My work is very personal as I paint things from my immediate environment such as my rubbish, invaluable items, what I eat and drink and the unnecessary objects which I buy. For this reason I consider my paintings to be more revealing than a traditional self portrait.
I am a strong believer in needing the rain to appreciate the sunshine. There is a benefit to everything and feel I blessed to be able to see that. I do not paint what is obviously beautiful however I do not paint from a negative point of view. I accept that life is out of my control so instead of focusing on the irrepressible my art embraces positive thinking.
I work with oil paints to create beautiful and gestural imagery. I use a direct application of paint, working wet into wet, making spontaneous brush marks.

i meant art studies. i'll got bachelor degree in book illustration in a year, but i'm a bit bored with my studying.
though i'm really interested what's art education is like in other countries. so i took a good look through your gallery, and, i'm curious if you are leading student or average, or maybe worse then average. i'm not judging your abilities or anything, i'm really just curious.

thankyou, my works havent all been done within the last 6 months, ive been teaching myself a bit before hand, both my parents are artists aswell so i have a bit of an advantage

well, you know, it's not a big advantage. maybe in your case it is, but statistically it's not. i study in the national academy of fine arts, so you can imagine how many people there have parents who are artists. and, well, you know, i haven't noticed if they really have any advantage. though maybe they just don't use that advantage, i'm not sure.

the main advantage i have of my parents being artists is that ive been raised creatively and have been painting my whole life really, also I've allways visited art exhibitions and gallerys maybe 2-3 times a month. my mum also manages a gallery which gives me exhibiting help.

Oh not at all, really. deviantART says it costs €21.96, paypal turned it into €23.00 when I bought mine

your quite talented. i hope that you are not just doing anime to get popular and are doing what you really love (i was unsure from your post)

Kenta-San In reply to Chloe-Davis [2009-05-06 01:18:27 +0000 UTC]
Oh yes, of coarse. I do anime, fan art, and manga because *I* love it. Then the fact that it is popular here is just a bonus. I was also going to go for a ninja themed deviant page as well, since I'm a ninja fan.
