I'm deeply impressed with your embroidery works!
I've recently inherited quite a big stash of shiny embroidery yarn (basic colors, but sadly no black).
never embroidered much before (only some stitching for amigurumis), but I'd love to try something like your works, if on a smaller scale at first.
do you have any tips on how to get started? anything I need to know about fabrics, patterns and/or tools?
if I'd manage something even half as pretty as your embroidery, I'd be happy.

Wow, thank you! I am so pleased you want to have a go at embroidery. My advice would be start small and simple before you move on to anything bigger and more complicated. I use polycotton fabric like in a mans shirt, but have a go on anything you have really. I use a hoop frame to keep the fabric tight, you don't need to at first as long as you don't pull too hard. I used to use stencils when I started, just draw it on to the fabric and fill it in however you want. If there is anything else I can do, please ask :@)

That sounds like your tension is a bit uneven. Keep at it and see what happens, you will find a tnsion right for you. Don't worry, just keep going :@) What yarn are you using? Try just the basic acrylic double knitting and if you have done a lot of unpicking on the same bit, just chop it off and start again. I hope that is helpful and thank you for the comment :@)
