a small, pocket-sized journal lays forgotten on a desk. a bookmark lays unceremoniously next to it, completely abandoned in its intended usage. instead, the pages appear lightly dog earred, but otherwise well kept. inside are idle scribbles and notes typical of any school journal, but every so often a small passage is written in a neat script.( this new lovely . lonely . empty . heavenly world )where janus will keep his thoughts.

It had been a tedious day- the dark clouds had rolled in overhead, making everything seem darker and duller than usual. The air was heavy with moisture, making it that much harder an effort to breathe. The scent of muggy rain and wet things was the only thing that made up for it- carrying the fresh smell of things that had been cleaned by the light showers. Maddy had never been one to mind rain, no. She honestly enjoyed it more than most would. She danced through it, sung in it, and also fell in it. But, nonetheless, she didn't care.
