thanks for the insightful look at my work. It made me stop and think.
I paint my latest fascinations and there are personal reasons for the specific characters/objects in the paintings but the work is meant to appeal to a larger audience. I'm not really a believer in attempting to create a new style that nobody cares about and assuming that the lack of appreciation is a sign of its future importance. I've been slowly molding my art toward a) getting noticed now and b) being sellable. I feel if work is too personal nobody cares about it..and its harder to make. That saying, each painting I do has at least a few things that are important to me, or objects important to the characters (who are stylized versions of real people).

i'm a bit of a hypocrite. i do the same thing. i'm sure in life i will stray from my idealized hope that i can be souly expressive with my art. i would like to stick to a standard of visualizing personal truths even at the stake of my own success. Or perhaps i would like to reach a place of success where i am aloud the luxury of portraying truths.
