HDR of train and sky. This is actually a single exposure (Canon RAW) but I simply processed the raw into three different exposures to bring out details. I then applied some simple HDR compositing of the layers to get this result which exagerates the richness of colors. I think this one has a nice, almost true-to-life view of the clouds.

First of all, I'd like to say that I really enjoyed viewing this photograph. The similar lines of the train and the road really make the composition in the shot unique. I also feel like I am in the photograph when I look at it. I think this is a result from the single-shot HDR that you used with it.

However, I have a few things that I think you could improve on with this photograph. Firstly, the clipped highlights in the main cloud bother me. I would love for my eyes to travel down the lines of the train and the road, but they keep jumping up to the very bright, central cloud. Perhaps some burning may fix it e.deviantart.com/emoticons/s/sā€¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)" />

Also, the junk in the left portion of the horizon sort of take away from the country side feeling of the shot. Mostly the truck in the road, but also the telephone posts and the building in the background distract me from the simplicity of the composition. Same thing with the trees peeking over the train. Perhaps shooting at a lower angle would of hidden these trees and would have produced a smoother straight line along the top of the train.

I think this is a very nicely shot photograph. I like how simple it is and how pure the colors are. I really feel like I'm standing there on a warm day. Nicely done!

thank you for the very helpful critique! I've actually updated the photo to take care of the blown highlights. I uploaded to flickr, I'll get it on deviantART soon but here's the result: [link]

Great HDR, the heavy clouds overhead with the perspective of the train and the road make it feel really engaging

Yup, this is perfection.

I had to do a double-take because I thought MS default bg's had hax0red my kde for a second. Was scary.

Awesome foto though.
