Hoolllyy faaaaaakkkkk my wrist hurts ;____; This took WAAAAYYYY too long to complete. Seriously. Aarrghh, I need to work on efficiency >.< I spent hours obsessing over little details that you can't even see anymore after shrinking the image! And I didn't even draw a background.... *hurls self into ocean*Anyways, 'tis Raito and L from the kickass manga Deathnote. The weird-pipe-wire-dirt-thingy they're sitting on is the result of staring at the contents of my garage for an hour O__o Just...don't ask.
Grass is hard to colour...I had to correct it a whole bunch of times because it looked like hair >.> Oh yeah...if anybody asks, Raito and L are holding hands because THEY ARE IN LOVE AND THEY WILL SPEND THE REST OF THEIR LIVES TOGETHER! 'Nuff said.

AAAAAAHHH!!!!!!!!! OH MY FREAKING GOODNESS! I just got chills... I've been meaning to draw a picture JUST like this; a boy and a girl, sitting back-to-back on a small platform, and holding hands. Of course yours is a bit different from mine, but not by much AT ALL. In mine, they're sitting on a rock in the middle of a stream with water flowing by, and the girl is looking away, like the boy is. Other than that, everything is the same! Exact same poses and everything!!! Even my guy was looking upwards like that. What the heck is going on?! *Looks at date* WHAT! I got the idea during a Labor Day trip in 2005! ALMOST THE SAME FREAKING DATE!

Sorry, I just find this EXTREMELY weird. What an insane coincidence. I just made the preliminary sketch for my drawing yesterday; if I decide to follow through and finish the image, I'll be sure to send it to you so we can compare lol.

I've read the first manga of DeathNote...It seems pretty interesting and I liek the art, but I don't have enough money to buy the series, and at the moment not enough time to read it in the store (

*giggles and points at the hands* is he supposed to be holding his hand? I know what you mean about the loss of detail with shrinking...its such a pain when you put loads of effort in and its not visible in the end. But that aside this pic is gorgeous ad the lack of bg suits it. The image would have been too over powering if you had put one in.
I really like how the font blends with the black...cant explain why but i really like it, like its growing out of he frame. You have a really painterly way of colouring wich i love and such cute clothes!! Its such a lovely pic and your floating mound of rubbish just screams Miyazaki...which is meant as a compliment and makes me love your art more...

I love that the underneath of the earthy part is monotonous, grungy/earthy red.. too red to be truly earthy, but just enough to be visceral. really great concept!
