3fukutaicho — Waiting for the end

Description Found this photo accompanying an article about the Irish economic situation in the newspaper several months back and decided that I want to use it as a ref for a painting. Been studying the poetry of Seamus Heaney while contemplating about the relations of the local and the global. Studied art as social commentary for 'half yearly' theory exam. Following the Japanese earthquake and its affects on modern Japan and the people. Finished a stack of essays for school only to get another round of assessment notifications the day I handed the last essay in.

This is the result.
A combination of stuff that happened over the past 8 months or so.

My style is evolving, it seems. But I haven't been CGing at all until today and now I have an unhealthy dependence on textures because I can't paint properly on PS anymore.

Oil painting improving like never before, though.

Such epic folds on his clothes. And I really like the face, which by the way looks like a departure from your 'usual' style, but in a good way (:

I don't know whether to react to the awesome of your picture or the anxiety of your comment.

But I have to say - this does feel different, like you're progressing. I don't know very many of the songs on 'A Thousand Suns', but when I saw the thumbnail, it immediately made me think of Linkin Park. I'm not sure why.

I love the way you composed this piece; it's really, really good. Looking forward to when you can upload some oil painting photos. ^^

lol Linkin Park does inspire a lot of my drawings. XD
I'm glad you think I'm progressing~ I was worried when I started CGing again the other day, that maybe I had degraded. But a new style is a good turn, I suppose.

I got a B for my creating writing for the first time in a long time, which is disheartening, but if my other units are good I'll consider it a worthwhile sacrifice. And I'll re-write it of course, so when it's exam time and I'll have to to write it again I'll get A range. =]

I think a break can really help sometimes. It lets you come back to something with a new perspective.

Aha, I know it'll be epic the second time round! I hope your other units are good!
I have to go collect that Shakespeare paper on Monday. D: I'm not looking forward to it; my argument was really, really dumb.

haha, yea.... then uni! lol... but we get a few month to play ^^ no essay, no hw, no assignments!! wooooot!!! but before that... there is the HSC T.T and before that there is 6months of school and essay
