It's because I'm trying to draw robot for my story but I suck.

I guess it depends on what kind, and for how many scenes?

The key to drawing good robots is really to just practice a lot. Work small and fast to really explore shapes and proportions, then when you feel good about one, try sketching it bigger to hone in the details. (and, believe me, even when you do settle on a good design, you'll naturally keep evolving it, so best to not fret and just go for it!)

Yeah, that would be fun. :,) I suppose it depends on how much further they plan to develop this franchise~

Thanks! This particular model is supposed to be a brutish "defender" (namely, of the scientist who reanimated it)

Oh Holy Hey-Suzie I love this so much.

Though the thought of one of those being powered by a monkey brain makes me think it's going to go on a bloody rampage while constantly uttering "HUNGRY HUNGRY HUNGRY ... POOP ... HUNGRY"

The best kind of armatures :V powered by the real geniuses (aw yeah)

I like how the "head" of the robot's kinda got a smile to it a geeky, friendly smile.

agghh how you pull off metal texture just makes me jaw drop ;__;

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

47ness In reply to JesnCin [2013-09-14 11:34:12 +0000 UTC]

Ahhha. Animals like Mimi have knowledge of the universe within them, so.

...........does your jaw drop to form a geeky, friendly smile?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JesnCin In reply to 47ness [2013-09-15 11:25:51 +0000 UTC]

Whoa-ho Mimi would go on rampage with that robot so she'd be able to store cheese for the coming apocalypse, leading to the rise of the rodents.

why yes

BRAINS!!!!Β  must be monkey brains, like those tasty monkey brains in Indiana Jones.

Really cool design. Reminds of those rogue boomers in Bubblegum Crisis. I like how the head and neck protrudes a lot, like it's ready to snap and bite.

47ness In reply to inisipis [2013-09-14 06:17:12 +0000 UTC]

But...! a monkey brain might be *too* intelligent. Can you say Rise of the Apes? ...in mech form??

Rhavencroft [2013-09-14 02:37:53 +0000 UTC]

Ooh, I love the design on this one! I like the face especially. His singular eye almost makes him...cute. Or maybe it's just me.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

47ness In reply to Rhavencroft [2013-09-14 04:29:59 +0000 UTC]

Haha, I can see that. I designed a different kind of cyclops for a creature class once and the teacher was giving me insights on what makes something "friendly" or not.

I think it has to do with the fact that [two eyes] + [teeth] + [bigger than a cat] = possible man-eating predator.

Your robot design work is AMAZING. I'm so envious of your skill in assembling them with such nice detail and semi-realism and keeping a great cartoonish personality to them at the same time!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

47ness In reply to Robo-Shark [2013-09-14 04:26:34 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! ^^ But then I dunno if I ~wanted~ it to be 'cartoony'? I guess it's too late to back-track, since the earlier designs have already been published. /o/

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Robo-Shark In reply to 47ness [2013-09-14 12:53:05 +0000 UTC]

It's certainly not comically 'toony or overcthe top! It just has nice proportions and personality, at least from my view!

47ness In reply to Robo-Shark [2013-09-14 13:39:12 +0000 UTC]

Nice design once again, you always get that balance between homemade and manufactured well- it looks like it could be either or.
Somehow you've captured the animal brain thing quite well, I think it could be the dog-like head tilt lol

Boy I would not want to give that thing a tail if it were a dog brain though haha

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

47ness In reply to Reganov [2013-09-14 04:24:50 +0000 UTC]

Haha, dat head tilt. It's just looking at you with childlike curiousity, wondering if your face is good to eat.

ludeshka [2013-09-13 21:18:08 +0000 UTC]

It's interesting how it's big but not huge. It really looks like a big armor thing. (I'm bad at expressing myself)

I mean, I'd be scared by this, because it could actually chase me down hallways and alleys...

47ness In reply to ludeshka [2013-09-13 21:44:40 +0000 UTC]
