I really, really like this picture. I think it's on par with the gauge you've taken a shot of. Such beautiful, shiny reflections, the wood work and the pretty depth of field give it a very wonderful atmosphere. In combination with the lunch basket you just expect to be peeking into a different time, where some upper class people would spend a day at the lake, all dressed up nicely. Very classy.

I really wish I would have had a better shooting position and could have gotten some photos of the entire boats, instead of just bits and pieces! The boats were docked such that the sun was directly across the lake from the shore, so there was pretty much no way to get decent light for them. Adding to that, there was enough smoke in the air that it made a telephoto shot from a longer distance to pick a better light angle almost impossible as well. None of the ones I shot came out.
The whole setup was really awesome, I wish I had been there on Saturday. There were something like three times the number of boats, and a bunch of people in period dress as well, showing them off and cruising around!

Oh, the pictures you shared yesterday looked very nice, but I understand the wish to have been able to take more pictures with better position and weather.
Maybe next year? Or is that not something that's held annually? Especially considering that by then you'll have so much better equipment for your camera and maybe more luck with the weather and the wildfires.
