Description

3D model render of my custom pre-Ep.1 ship for Naboo patrol forces.

Design of the ship is loosely based on the N1 from the Episode 1 and my recent commission, a Nubian Corvette:

So is this intended to be a fighter or a corvette/freighter type of ship?

Very well done. I do like the design and coloring of it. It is both original and connects to the Naboo design in Episode 1.

Thanks a lot My main goal was to provide something less advanced than the N1 and other Naboo ships, while still retaining some elements that, with a little upgrade, could provide a natural evolution to the Ep1 ships.

Nothing in the plans yet, I got one YT commission underway so I'm focusing on that one. I will probably not take a shot at it myself though, as there are some pretty good quality models around the internet.

Yeah it will get a bit of damage, but I don't want to go overboard with it It will still be glossy and shiny in places.

Looks very nice but i think it has a few edges too much for a naboo ship.

AdamKop In reply to Seeras [2013-12-21 15:56:47 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, it's supposed to be an older generation vessel so it shares mostly the color and a few design elements with the new N1. It's similar to my recent commission of the Nubian Corvette, which was designed with Naboo's stronger military forces in mind.

It will be more glossy in the end However, not as much as the N1 because it's supposed to be an older design.

Thanks It should go pretty fast now from here, I'll just have to cover it in a lot of panels and misc details. I'm still not sure about color though, as blue is the color of Naboo's police forces but yellow is more recognisable for Nubian military.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Majestic-MSFC In reply to AdamKop [2013-12-16 01:29:14 +0000 UTC]

I think yellow as Police are generally law enforcement for the citizens and so I would feel they wouldn't operate in space much, the military would more likely use a vessel like this to patrol their boarders and defend against pirates and such.

I can't help but think that a force with this sort of ship is rather like having an Italian super car as a police interceptor:  a bit overkill, but damn, so cool.

Fits the attitude of Naboo perfectly.

AdamKop In reply to Phaeton99 [2013-12-11 11:06:25 +0000 UTC]

Haha yeah, some ships from the game Battle For Naboo were like this - N1 was a glossy chrome pimp ride, the patrol ship had three engines and was glossy as well. Bomber was big, but it was covered in chrome just as much as the N1. Even the speeder had an "open roof" that would be very impractical when fired upon

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Phaeton99 In reply to AdamKop [2013-12-14 00:32:21 +0000 UTC]

The Naboo were not really prepared to use their lovely ceremonial guard for something as gauche as  fighting... which may be why a group of amateur conquerers with converted freighters and robomooks pWN'd 'em.... who in turn got beaten up by Gungans, a pair of Jedi and a pee-wee speeder jockey.

Is it any wonder Sidious had to spend so many years between movies reorganizing the Separatists into something that could be a legitimate threat to the Republic to justify his War?  ;D

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AdamKop In reply to Phaeton99 [2013-12-14 15:13:51 +0000 UTC]

Yeah Separatists were pretty dumb overall and if it wasn't for their leaders, they wouldn't last long Hell, even C-3PO got some kills in the arena if I remember correctly.

As for the Naboo military, they had some nice equipment in the Battle for Naboo game but in most of the battles you were pretty much outnumbered and had to helpf someone ...

Oh that's cool, you have the PC version? I had the N64 but sold it along with the console and all my games.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Majestic-MSFC In reply to AdamKop [2013-12-22 23:15:58 +0000 UTC]

No I only have the N64 version, I kept the console and all my games, a trend I started with the N64 and followed through with the original Xbox and will continue with the Xbox 360. My wife and I even went onto ebay a few years back and bought a second hand Sega Megadrive and Super Nintendo.

Also you may want to check this guy out he does custom made N64's (paint job) and to my understanding they are brand new consoles that are reasonably priced. I plan on getting a Zelda one done in the near future.

Oh yeah nothing beats playing the game on an original console I'm not selling my console from now on, as I realised I will miss them later on... I have a 3DS for the moment but if the WiiU drops to a decent price I will get it as well. I've been playing a lot of other consoles but somehow I just can't have enough fun on them. I liked Burnout 3/Legends (PS2 and PSP) and Devil May Cry 3, but that's it. I can't even count all of the "amazing" games I played, but pretty much nothing got my attention. I even played GTA5 a few days ago but got bored after a while. I guess I'm too old to have fun with all of the "modern" and "cinematic" titles.

When you get a custom N64, be sure to take a pic of it Majora's Mask version looks the best if you ask me

Majestic-MSFC In reply to AdamKop [2013-12-24 09:34:26 +0000 UTC]

I'll certainly will, I plan on the OoT (gold version) without the gold fleck. My daughter wants the Majora Mask version for her birthday lol.

I too am finding the more modern games less enjoyable, it's really only the first person shooters like Halo, Goldeneye Reloaded etc that I am enjoying a lot of the other modern games I find are boring including the MMO's that are only designed to hit your wallet hard and make it hard to play those games if you don't. We're probably in the same boat being too old school to enjoy the games being aimed at the younger generations who are still in school currently.

AdamKop In reply to Majestic-MSFC [2013-12-24 10:25:52 +0000 UTC]

Oh so you will have two versions, that's even better

I hope that Nintendo will put more effort into Virtual Console releases, as I was putting tons of hours into N64 and SNES games on the Wii. I can't put my cards to pay with them on the eShop now that I have my own assigned to my polish address (I used my father's card when I was still going to USA on summers), but I found out recently that I can buy digital versions of pre-paid cards so I will most likely use that soon.

Funny thing about Goldeneye - I had the remake for Wii and it was probably the only modern shooter that I liked, even though it was very different compared to the N64 version. I played a bit of Halo 3 as well, but that was after I got the Wii, so stick control was unbearable for me after using the Wii remote for aiming

Majestic-MSFC In reply to AdamKop [2013-12-24 10:34:37 +0000 UTC]

Lol that is funny as I can't use the Wii remote, both my wife and daughter have Wii's and I find the standard controllers for the Xbox to be more suited to me. I did grow up as a console gamer starting out on the Sega Master System, I even struggle using the Kinect for the Xbox. God this shows my age a bit doesn't it. lol

Yeah the Goldeneye Reloaded was rather faithful to the original from the N64 but modernized for the newer generation. It was done well as after Rare lost the rights to the Bond games (after the original Goldeneye for the N64), they did become pretty bad. EA simply couldn't do them as good.

I plan with mine to eventually have the four matching controllers as well, after we get our versions there will be 3 N64's in our house, that is cool. I still rate the N64 as one of the best consoles in the history of consoles. So many awesome games came out on it, and while it was the last console to use cartridges which don't have as much space as CD's it still kept the quality up matching Playstation games of the era.

AdamKop In reply to Majestic-MSFC [2013-12-25 18:06:48 +0000 UTC]

Oh well, I can't play Kinect without getting frustrated, but I never had any problems with the WiiU. I think it was my favourite console due to the cool new stuff that you could do in "old" games. I think it was a perfect blend of mechanical movement and button pressing. I guess I'm a bit younger due to the fact that my real adventures began with a brand-new N64 that my father bought me in the USA. I was 7 if I recall correctly and my friends didn't even know what it was. At that time only one of my friends had a computer (because his dad worked on one) and only one dude had a console that his brother bought in Germany on flea market or something

It's unfortunate what's happning with Bond though, as movies are getting better and games less exciting. I remember even a GBA game getting good reviews, but console games were just mediocre when they tried to do a new goldeneye shooter (don't even remember the name of that one ). The remake of Goldeneye was really surprising, but there's been a new game released and it's pretty bad from what I heard.

Can't agree more on the N64 - it had some of the best games. I remember that even my mother bought me some games when she went to USA to work and I was happy with everything. I can't really choose the best console, but I guess that with time you are left with only the good memories and everything seems amazing Gotta give it to Nintendo for the DS and Wii though, as they revived a lot of franchises and did a ton of great games. If the DS had a smash bros game then it would most likely be remembered as the best console of all time probably.

Yeah I was 13 when I got my N64 in the Christmas of 97. I got Lylat Wars and Shadows of the Empire with it, many fun and equally frustrating times on that console. Though I must admit playing the older games on the Sega Master System and Megadrive were a lot harder like Sonic and Alex the Kid. I got my Master System in 1993 I don't know what eventually happened to it. I do know I sold my Megadrive and all it's games for $60 in 1998, though it was my mothers idea, something I kind of regretted and something I would never do again. I have bought a second hand megadrive off ebay a few years back but don't have some of the games that I actually sold with my old one.

Yeah the Goldeneye Reloaded (came out on the Wii and Xbox360 a year or two ago) was a nice surprise and a rather good game, it tried to stay faithful to the movie and original game while also updating everything. A lot of bond games that preceded it and succeeded the original goldeneye game were rather bad. I think it's due to this that I am not much of an EA game fan. Too many bad games in their long history to warrant me trying another of their games. lol There was another Goldeneye game called Goldeneye Rogue Agent but it wasn't all that good. I got it for the Xbox (can't remember if it's the original or the 360). You didn't play as Bond either and it had nothing to do with the movie.

AdamKop In reply to Majestic-MSFC [2013-12-26 11:35:31 +0000 UTC]

Yeah if I could turn back time I wouldn't sell even one game that I had Good thing Nintendo consoles are backwards compatible and try to emulate older software. It's weird, but I wouldn't buy a PS4 or XB1 only because they don't have backwards compatibility. I could understand consoles that moved to a different data carrier (cartriges to discs etc) but right now it's just for the sake of doing a cheaper and easier system architecture.

That bad Bond game I was talking about earlier was the Rogue Agent I guess that EA just can't get the idea of a "fun" game. I think that Hot Pursuit 2010 was the last game I got from them (and it was developed by Criterion, which made Burnout so I don't think that even counts ).
