Description Old trilogy-based model that I designed and modeled some time ago. This ship is supposed to be a missing link between Tie Fighters and Tie Bombers. It carries a heavier armament but stays agile enough to stand up against fighters.

SCI-FI COMMISIONS (2D & 3D work):thumb307534666::thumb307534751:

Hello everyone, AdamKop here
Being on the DeviantART for almost a year, I decided to finally start doing commisioned work. I got quite a few questions and requests throughout the year and now I composed a list with prices for my works.
If you have already seen my gallery, you must already know that I am mostly modeling original concepts for Star Wars and Star Trek universe.

Here is a link to my gallery if you didn't see it by now : https://AdamKop.deviantart.com/gallery/

I am open to other types though, so don't be afraid to ask if you are interested in StarGate or Metroid.
All prices are not final thou

Impressive... most impressive.

What weapons does it have? Four cannons (the things on the upper left, upper right, lower left, lower right of the cockpit) and eight missile launchers (the barrels in... whatever's between the cockpit and the solar panels)?

AdamKop In reply to ArmamentDawg [2013-04-10 14:52:56 +0000 UTC]

Hmm from what I remember, that's correct. The pods act as weapons storage.

Wow I didn't even notice all these months that I made a typo
It was just a random name since all the TIEs had some kind of "clever" names to them.

Excellent design concept. You should do a re-design/mod based off the Tie-Interceptor as well.

Thanks When I get around to making another TIE, I will probably do somethin as aggressive as the Interceptor.

That is awesome. I am trying to learn 3D, but realized I don't have the patience for it. Knowing how hard it is makes this piece that much more amazing to me.

AdamKop In reply to AG88 [2012-06-24 22:16:13 +0000 UTC]

Thanks It's actually not hard, it's the beginnings that are difficult. If you want to do it and you like creating stuff, it only gets better.

AG88 In reply to AdamKop [2012-06-24 22:24:25 +0000 UTC]

I didn't want to dump a lot of money into 3D so I downloaded Blender and I am doing a tutorial. The trouble is there are so many buttons that it is hard to remember what I learned the day before. I have a royal headache now because I think a lot of these tutorials are for PC users with a three button mouse and I have a Mac with mouse that is weird. It makes it difficult to follow along.

I would love to get to your level of expertise. How long have you been doing 3D art?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AdamKop In reply to AG88 [2012-06-25 06:43:15 +0000 UTC]

Well, everything is difficult in the beginning, but I agree that Blender is a bit too complex for its own good. I also had big problems with remembering stuff, and I even resorted to writing where stuff is
In total I think I've been doing this for 4 years, but since I did it mostly in my free time, it was only a really small fraction of the time.

I tried modeling 6 years ago in...I think it was in Bryce. I know I had Bryce and Poser back then and did some modeling in one of the programs. Anyway it was so difficult that I said, "It would be faster to learn how to paint." (I was using the modeling to add into 2D drawing, no animation). So I bought Painter and taught myself to paint.

Now I got the urge to try modeling again. I would like to learn so I could teach my sons. They need to learn something other than how to kill zombies online. If I could get them fired up about modeling maybe they could get a job in the video game industry. Today my 13 year old starts a summer college class on Game Programing.

I really appreciate your encouragement. Thanks!

If you want to give your children a hobby, just introduce them to 3D modeling - it's not required of you to know it actually. If you show them a lot of cool works and get them into a community like on dA or some modeling forums, it will be easier for them to jump in. Modeling is like painting and it's hard to do it just because you want to work in the industry. If your son already started college in programming, he will surely need no extra motivation to start doing 3D.
Being a kid not so long time ago, I tell you it's better just to show some cool stuff and let your sons decide themselves

AG88 In reply to AdamKop [2012-06-25 14:56:24 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I had no intention to force him into anything, but he learns better when somebody shows him step by step.

I would like to learn the modeling just as a hobby. I love painting, but sometimes it is nice to throw in a cool 3D model into the digital drawing. I did it with photoshop Espousse (which I always spell wrong), but it made the background to my drawing look so realistic. It is fascinating what can be done with computers.

Thanks for the input.

Ok then if you want it as a hobby, it's perfect Be sure to look up a lot of tutorials, but focus on the basics only. Doing details and refining shapes is what you should learn on your own, because I had problems with it - when I modeled a car after a tutorial, I was clueless when I tried to make one myself, because there was no one to hold my hand

Yeah it kinda resembles that one but I actually was more inspired by the original TIE and TIE bomber.

Yeah, I always try to keep my models at least somewhat similar to others of its kind. TIE fighters don't differ very much so most of the key parts are always in place.
