Description First attempt at feathering on zbrush. I only -only- used zbrush for this exercise. I don't really like how it turned out. I think I'm going to have to make each body feather individually. It's going to be a pain though.
I would use the fiber system, but the goal is to have a fully 3d model, not a "2.5d" model. If this next attempt doesn't work in zbrush, I'll move it over to blender and do the feathering there.

I do like the feathers on the arms, though.

I do love the scaly raptors, but adding the feathers to this troodon really takes it up a level in terms of realism! Once again, I like this dinosaur's bright white eyes and 'expressions' giving it the perception of character (which, as intelligent creatures as they are, may not be that far off).

You are planning on finishing the rest of the body, right? I can't wait to see the results. Good luck with this!

Thank you so much.
I don't know if I'll finish the body or not. If I can get some feathers that I really like I will. Troodon Formosis has a really interesting face. They really did have big eyes, and are the most similar dinosaurs to exant owls that we know.

Yes, their large eyes are fascinating as well as adorable. It's a sure sign of high intelligence.
