From the fiery depths of Staves Peak during the Weemstide of 2022, two lone mancakes emerged, or so it would seem... They flew on into the night with one destination in mind: Staves Rest. The island sat quietly in anticipation, waiting for them.

I'm finally finishing some pictures that have been sitting in my files for a while, and this is one of them! I started this very shortly before the 2022 Missing Persons event began in Staves Rest and just never got around to finishing it until now! I've never drawn an exploding volcano before and have had a couple of reference images pulled up for months now to try and make it look pretty accurate. I think it turned out great, if only it didn't look like the volcano was teeny-tiny--either that or the mancakes are MASSIVE! I don't mean to harp too long on one mistake I made, but I notice it now and it kind of bothers me... But I think originally my plan was to have the mancakes flying towards the screen, and I remember that wasn't working out so maybe that's why they're so big. Eh, I'll let bygones be bygones!
