Description
The third and last picture from my Three Dragon Pictures project! This dragon is based on TheOracleDragon 's description .I was inspired by TheOracleDragon 's idea of a dragon that lives in space with an ability to blend in with colors when needed. Also double wings she mentioned were tickling my imagination. In this picture my interpretation of space and second pair of wings are quite obvious but for blending ability I wanted to draw something different so I drew crystal like spikes that will reflect colors from environment and cause blending that way.
I hope you like my interpretation!

Thank you, I really like the concept as well! I tried to find references for double wings but naturally there weren't many available... so drew those from my imagination and I am sure they are not perfectly balanced.

A good tip: Visualize the skeleton and the way the muscles would attach. Helps figure out the shapes.

Yup, I usually sketch skeleton and basic shape at first and then start adding muscles and details. Too bad it is not always working perfectly... Moar practice needed.

Very nice work! Love how you depicted the swirling cosmos all around this dragon, and the double set of wings is well-done. I like the crystaline horns and spines, too... maybe they are crystal, maybe they are ice, I suppose. With the space travel, I wouldn't be surprised if it were ice.

This was overall very fun picture to draw; I loved the given description which I used as a base for drawing - it gave me enough details to work with but also allowed lots of room for interpretation. ^^

Joo, ei yhtään lähdetä tuolle tieteistielle, vaan pysytään ihan vaan fantasiassa. 
Mistä tulikin mieleen, että kävin leffassa katsomassa Interstellarin viikonloppuna pahemman puoliskon kanssa ja sitä rassas ihan tosissaan, kun elokuvan selitykset eivät oikein mätsänneet fysiikan lakien kanssa... mua taas ei moiset pikkuseikat vaivanneet, vaan nautin ihan sujuvasti tarinasta ja erikoisefekteistä.

Wow, I'm not even sure where to begin with this one... I am in love with all of it!
That space background is literally stunning. You captured such an amazing amount of texture and depth with all of the blues and purples - I find myself looking at the planets, the stars, the swirling nebula's and then repeating it all over again.
And the dragon!!! Gurl, seriously how long have you been working on this... it must have been for weeks!? You have captured an amazing amount of detail here. The wrinkled, leathery texture of the dragon's skin almost looks real enough to reach out and touch. And the shiny bits on his body and wings create just the perfect touch. And then there are his gemstone accents...
I love the composition, the colors, the movement, and everything about this image. ♥ It is really a masterpiece hun!

I am so happy to hear that you like the background! When starting this drawing I was a bit worried how can I pull it off but after I got into painting phase it just happended. 
Well the total time would be weeks but I haven't been able to draw during weekdays recently so I have mostly worked this on weekends.
So there are long periods when this drawing has just been sitting under a pile of books waiting for me to get back painting again. 
Those gemstones were really fun and easy to do, I could actually make a little tutorial how do I draw them.
They may look complicated but they are actually quite simple.

Oooh, this dragon has such an awesome design! I love all the crystal parts - spikes and horns look fantastic! And the wings are so pretty - I love the lines and the colors and how the texture just seems to come through so clearly. I feel like I should be able to feel what they feel like if I touched my screen. (Okay, too many uses of the word "feel" there.

I am glad to hear that my picture woke so many "feels" - I think that's the best thing an artwork can do: to make the viewer feel something!
I really enjoyed drawing all the crystals although after I have colored the first one I was thinking "what did I do, it will take ages to finish this now" but after all those were colored quicky. Also space background was a cool experience; I think I must do more space scenes in the future. (And maybe learn to draw better circles, my planets ended up looking quite bumpy...)

Wow, simply wow! This is a magnificent artwork! I love the color combination of green, a bit blue and purple. The details are insane!!! Yet alone the background is so full details! Stars everywhere, the thin lines on the dragons' body, the reflections on the crystals! I'm in awe! I think your interpretation is wonderful and I like it a lot!
