In fact, I think that not even Mikasa would fight the Titans without Eren. Β She ONLY joined the military because of Eren. Β She might've lived long enough to get everyone to that gas depot, but I think that she would've resigned afterward. Β Or, only fight to keep the Titans out but not beyond that.
Eren was the only one who actually wanted to kill all the Titans, andΒ it's not only because his mom died. Β Eren wanted to join the scouts so that he could LEAVE that place before all of this went down. Β
I think that that's another thing that I like about him. Β Everyone else is happy with how things were before, but Eren and Armin wanted to see the world. Β

Clearly, a 10/10 work of art. Β I favorited a lot of SnK/AoT fan art, but this is one of the best. Β Eren x Mikasa is my favorite pairing and Eren's actually my favorite character. Β ABOVE Mikasa. Β I don't know if Mikasa even ranks #2, because she seems to be #1 on so many people's list that it annoys me. Β
But, I am one of the few who actually like this guy, apparently. Β Which befuddles me because he's what keeps the show going. Β If it wasn't for Eren, everyone would be too pussy to fight the Titans. Β Sure, his speech got his whole squad motivated and they ALL died (including himself, sort of) because of it. Β
But, it's his drive that I like, I guess. Β

This picture feels very gentle that sounds so strange but I can't think of another way to put it. You did a great job capturing the feelings Mikasa has towards Eren and showing it here (and Eren's lack of returning them as well).

I like this pic. I like seeing Eren and Mikasa interact. I like seeing them so close and bonding. I do not like the idea of them being a couple. I just want them to form a close sibling bond. Not a romantic type. Romance has become cliche.

Yeah I can see the hints of Mikasa liking Eren. I just really hope it's just false implications or that she realizes Eren will never like her in a sexual way. Though... I do find it annoying that he is much nicer to Armin than he is to her.

Eh, I've read enough manga and watched enough anime to know how this will end. Either either dies or they get together. I'm leaning towards getting together.

Or they don't. Seriously, there are just as many manga/animes where the characters don't get romantically resolved as there are ones that do. Whether Mikasa and Eren get together may actually just be left up to the viewer by the end. The reason I speculate this is because while Mikasa is defined by her loyalty, it was never maid important as to if they should be together. Unlike in Naruto, FMAB, etc where the love interest is an important part of the character development, Attack on Titan doesn't focus on this topic like... at all. Yeah there is some teasing, but like really subtle teasing (aside from Jean's reaction to seeing Mikasa). The OVAs don't count where it is confirmed that Mikasa is in love with Eren (she gets sad when Eren exclaims that they are not dating or when Armin calls her Eren's sister).

So.... because a protagonist isn't romanticly capable... he is not worth having fans? Yeah, that makes sense. Characters must be defined by their romantic life. Like Sakura Haruno from Naruto... a girl that has the sole purpose of being the object of Naruto's affection and Sasuke Uchiha's rejection. Yyyyyyeah.
Just because a hero doesn't wanna commit to a lady doesn't make him a hero. Hell, I know some decent people that don't really care much for finding a spouse. Eren is just one of those people that hardly thinks about it. He is (and impied to have always been) a disturbed kid. Border-line sociopath. The death of his mother and home town made things even worse. He wants vengeance on the Titans AND wants to protect what's left of humanity. He still is a team player and cares about his friends. He rescued Mikasa before he even knew her. He is very protective of Armin. Seemed deeply saddened to learn Marco and the others died in battle. Loses his shit when the Female Titan kills the survey corps (do not spoil for me what happens after that). And he is not above attraction since he is implied to have had a small crush on Anna at one point. He just doesn't prioritize his love life. He also just doesn't view Mikasa as a girlfriend. He in fact is annoyed by her constant vying over him.
So in short, Eren commits to any task/goal he gives himself. Romance is just not one of them (at the time). The only real cop-out here is making him and Mikasa non-blood related just so we don't cringe at the idea of them getting together.

You're putting words in my mouth. The man I'm talking about is the one in charge of Attack on Titan so your rant is meaningless and I'll ignore it as you misread what I said completely.
If the creator and his team are pushing it than they owe it to either confirm or deny it. Not doing either is pathetic and fans deserve better than to be left with no conclusion in the end.
It's why series that have no resolution for the main characters or the story are usually panned a great deal by fans who rightfully feel betrayed and lead on.Β

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh, sorry. Well yeah, sometimes leaving some things unresolved by an end of a story is okay (if done right) as it could symbolize that nothing ever truly ends. Even though we won't be following the characters anymore, their lives still go on.
Still, it can be very annoying when writers just abandon loose ends.

It is indeed. It's also why I hate games like Mass Effect 3 as the ending felt unfinished. Hell the original "secret" end has the game end with a single breath before credits despite it being the last game in the trilogy. They purposely dangled false hope before the player and than cut to black without any real resolution to Shepard's story.

Agreed on that. Though the Manga and Anime shouldn't leave loose ends either. Te Anime may if it doesn't get a season 2 but the Manga shouldn't have any loose ends as it's Β the source material!

Nope. They'll leave lose ends that aren't all that important (it's what most mangas do). Again, such as Eren and Mikasa getting together. From what I see now, there isn't any foreshadowing to it. Yeah, Mikasa has he obsession for Eren but on the other end he just treats her like she's his annoying older sister (it kinda pisses me off when he yells at her) and Armin like he's his precious little brother (even if all three of them are the same age). However, the loose ends such as where Titans come from or something... now that should NOT be left loose. I'll kill some one if it does.

There will be loose ends but Mikasa and Eren's relationship doesn't seem like one. It has to be addressed eventually as Mikasa is becoming more off balanced with the Titans repeatedly capturing Eren and causing her to lose her humanity in her quest to get him back no matter what.
The Titan origin hopefully will be answered. Many believe the Basement and the Walls themselves are the true secret to the Titans.

Yeah, Mikasa's crush on Eren is very obvious. Too the point where it actually annoys me. All she thinks about is Eren. Which I understand but I don't like girls that are obsessed. But my peeves aren't what's important. Eren has stated over and over how much Mikasa annoys him. Sure, he cares about her and will protect her no matter what... but he always treats her like his sister. He is always standing up to her, saying stuff like "You're not the boss of me" "I'm not your baby brother!" and blah blah blah. In a way, he treats Mikasa the way he used to treat his mom (whom he loved very much but would constantly argue with her). I just don't see the chemistry on Eren's part, and so far he hasn't developed attraction to her in the slightest, he still treats her like he always has. In other anime (or stories in general), when people are going to be together or gain feelings for one another... it doesn't just happen at the end. It is foreshadowed or developed over time. Eren has gone through some character development such as to learn to trust others, training and skill are just as important as courage, and other stuff. However, his character arc has never Β once been focused on what he feels for Mikasa. If the two are gonna get together, I'd prefer it won't be a last minute thing where right at the end, Eren is like "Mikasa I just realized that I am in love with you!" or "Mikasa, I always loved you just could never admit it to myself!".
