Aha- subtlety piled on subtlety! There is a nice subplot developing, about the power some vampires possess over people- the glittering eye and commanding gesture has become somewhat old hat- how ingenious to be able to influence people through music! One can easily imagine Folquet transferred to modern times, with an enchanted electric guitar rather than a lute, controlling vast crowds of ... delirious young fans...Brrrr.
Your drawing of your figures is really getting excellent. Hard to imagine a time when you found hands difficult! Their body language is very expressive of their emotions .

Ah, so glad you think so!!! Great point about the modern musician controlling the moods of young fans. Because Folquet is capable of controlling (or rather strongly influencing) moods, not thoughts. And influencing masses rather than individuals.

Haha awkward right? Well, he did have a bad feeling about the song, originally!...one gut-feeling he shouldn’t have ignored...

He is a noble person to try to avoid using such a convenient power.

Folquet is a gentle soul, he wouldn't feel well with enforcing his will on others. Though sometimes he does do it for safety or money or whatever. Tries not to though.

Definitely! Folquet keeps blaming himself for this, and other things...

For an artist, a pretty tragic one. Especially a person of romantic and soft intentions like Folquet. He would like to inspire people to beauty and hope....

yeah, this has gotten me quite interested.
A very effective story hook you've crafted.

Are you willing to do request comics?

I'm afraid not. I can draw comic pages based on someone's script, but it costs 80-100 euro depending on complexity.

Ah, I 'm so glad you like that one! I was so proud of it, I think I only managed to really get his physique and body-language right here.
Very true! I loved your idea of some types of magic at least having a look inspired by the mage's personality/nature. In this case, it's not exactly the individual mage, but rather the nature of the cult that influences the magic. They are supposed to be moths. Like moths to a flame....
And yes, what happened is that someone (for a yet unclear reason) warped (and enhanced) Folquet's vampire powers when he wrote that song....The cursed lute string was just a 'parting gift'.

I wonder if this means that the powers vampires have are based in something they had before they were bitten.

They are indeed. Well, there are 5 basic types of powers that vampires can develop, but the shape they take on and the way they are expressed differs based on the vampire's personality/character/nature before the embrace.
I give a bit of an explanation of that here:

Hahah, I know what you mean. Seb is a bit naiive, but he also doesn't like jumping to conclusions, and wanted to make Folquet feel better.

So the curse is rooted in his own ability!? Does that mean that he inflicted it upon himself without knowing it or did the 'visitor' corrupt his skill afterwards (that is after he wrote the song)? This is all very interesting. Also, I agree with the other commentator that Folquet STILL has some explaining to do! Thank you for sharing - it is always a pleasure to see new pages of this - I cant wait for more!

Yes! Exactly! His own vampiric powers were corrupted and used despite his knowledge when he wrote that song...why and how is not clear yet though.
Heh, yeah, Folquet went on a long-winded story and didn't address the obvious issue: who tried to kill him!
