Absolutely beautiful! Was there a specific pattern that you followed for this or did you draft it yourself? And is that pin-tucking on the front?
Really fantastic work.

Thank you! yes I used Truly Victorian patterns. The bodice is the French Vest which I modified slightly. I changed the back to have gussets instead of the normal open pleats. And yes, I did pin-tucking for the upper part of the bodice front. The skirts are the long apron front and the plain A line they have.

Wow! It takes so much patience to do all that pin-tucking. But it's totally worth it... the end result is absolutely exquisite

You're welcome - I love this! How long did it take you to make it? Did you create your own design/pattern for it, or did you use an antique pattern?

I based the pattern on Truly Victorian french vest bodice. But I wanted to make it look like a real vest underneath so I divided the front section into an upper and lower area. I used pin-tucking on the top and did piping all around it.
I also changed the back. It is supposed to have little open tails but because I wanted to flatline it, I changed it to a gusseted back. I lined it with the silk (and a layer of coutil) so if it flew up while dancing or walking about you would not notice as much.
As for how long it took... the skirts went together pretty quickly, about 2 weeks on those, and the bodice was about a week. I did alot of hand sewing of trims and jewels. :3

It is so gorgeous! Something like that would probably take me a year to complete! But you undoubtedly have quite a lot of sewing experience, and thus it goes much more smoothly. It's lovely!
