Very good, the following drawing is part of a request that a DeviantArt user asked me, who asked me to draw a couple that everyone knows since it has been a universal couple for a long time and has been one of the first couples created by Walt Disney himself. It is said quickly, especially in these times... quite a love story between the most famous little mice in cinema and comic strips. Minnie and Mickey have been inseparable for more than 90 years. By the way, although we know Minnie as Mickey's eternal girlfriend, did you know they were married? This couple I am talking about are none other than Mickey Mouse and his girlfriend Minnie Mouse, created in 1933 by the cartoonist Walt Disney and his brother Roy Disney, who at that time, worked together in their own animation studio: “Disney Brothers Studio.” The story of Mickey and Minnie begins in 1928, at which time Minnie makes her first appearance in the short Plane Crazy. Although she begins to take more prominence a couple of years later, with the short film “Steamboat Willie”, where Minnie was a struggling musician trying to travel on the steamboat that Mickey was working on. They hit it off instantly when Mickey tried to cheer up Minnie after a goat ate her music, followed by her guitar. Although they were never technically married, in 1933, Walt Disney released the statement that read: "In private life, Mickey is married to Minnie." Considering that in real life Mickey Mouse voice actor Wayne Allwine was married to Minnie voice actor Russi Taylor, this claim was largely recognized as fact.
Early in her career, Minnie often played the damsel in distress to whom Mickey, in his own way, came running to the rescue. However, she faced early retirement between the 1950s and 1980s, when Mickey's Friends grew in popularity and suppressed Minnie's ratings.
It wasn't until the '88 TV special 'Totally Minnie' that she was exposed in a new light and identified with a new age audience. Minnie was no longer just a damsel in distress, but she showed wit and character in a duet with Sir Elton John, which also helped her gain relevance. Minnie continued to fill our homes with regular appearances on television and movies, and in 2018 she finally received the credit she deserved with her own Hollywood star on the Walk of Fame, along with other Disney creations Mickey, Donald Duck, Snow White and Winnie the Pooh.
Since then, and although Minnie has had many admirers (Mortimer Mouse, Peg-leg Pete or the fearsome rat Mr. Slicker who was able to bring Mickey to the brink of suicide), she has always remained faithful to her companion in all of their adventures.
Following their on-screen debut, the instant fame and enduring charm of these iconic characters would also mark the appearance of a variety of licensed products beginning in the 1930s, from writing pads and watches to clothing and school supplies. Today, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse products reach all members of the family.
The iconic couple has starred in more than a hundred animated contents and has conquered the hearts of millions of fans around the world. The official symbol of Disney around the world, Mickey Mouse brings laughter, fun, magic and friendship to children and adults alike.
Mickey Mouse is always courting Minnie Mouse as his one and only love. They both trust each other's abilities and support each other. Although they may have disagreements, they reconcile quickly. Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse are boyfriend and girlfriend and, above all, friends forever.
So, I decided to draw Mickey and Minnie in that position, forming a heart with their hands with the word “Sweet Love” in the middle and of course, I must say that Mickey and Minnie have been one of my favorite Disney couples since I was a little girl. Well, I remember that I had toys and plushes of these two characters and I liked to play with them that they had romantic adventures and for me, it is nice to include them in my art gallery since they are an iconic and very peculiar couple, so I hope that the person who asked me for the drawing liked it and although drawing Mickey and Minnie has not been easy, I did my best to make them look good and well, remember that every time I draw, I do it to better practice my drawing skills and that my drawings improve for the better every day.
