Here's the a new painting I did for Magic: The Gathering's new Dominaria set! #MTGDOM
Getting the scale of this titanic figure to read was challenging. The goal was to make her powerful and alien, while still human-ish, but at the same time fitting in with the ruins of long-gone civilisations on Dominaria. And then how do you get something to look large if you can't use atmospheric perspective, since it's a figure of pure light? AD by Mark Winters.

Great composition.
I'd recommend to use more indirect reflected light from the sand and translucent light from the leaves. Then it'd look much more real

That would be challenging indeed. I definitely think you got that to work using the trees in the foreground mixed with the background of the rolling hills and mountains. The perspective of a low angle also helps. I've found when I shoot the photographs of my lego sculptures, if I want a more menacing or imposing shot, even if the subject isn't a large scale figure, low angles always help sell that.
What I also find interesting is a kind of resemblance to Koziek's geometric shapes with her floating runes. It bears that same kind of weight in the sense that you can really feel this is a magical being and it's manipulating forces an average person can't understand. I got that feeling from Kozilek and his creatures that bore those floating elements.

not sure why but evra's design always reminds me of the vague figure in the background of wrath of god. It's prettimuch nothing alike but strikes something in my imagination there.
