Description I am fond of this duo. They are both beautiful.

I wanted to give a try to a colored background. Like everything, it requires some practice...

That's a very old drawing of mine (I believe one of my first tries with colour pencils) but I still love it quite a lot.
Thank you ^^

Spock playing his harp is my favourite vision of him   And I like to dream about Thranduil playing harp too

I absolutely love Spock playing on his lyre <3 <3 <3
Is Thranduil a musician too? Or is it your own day-dreaming?

I love it too!  I think elves are musical at general. According Tolkien music is very important for them and especially in Hobbit elves are very cheerfull  In the movies isn't precisely shown that Thranduil and other Mirkwood elves are musicians, but I think so. So it is my day-dreaming
In accompanying book about the second movie is only informations that Thranduil likes and grows orchids and he loves gems

Great drawing!!  I'm impressed by traditional artwork in general and you nailed the likenesses
I love this scene too. Uhura was so beautiful   And this was the first time we saw Spock's playful side

I'm glad you like it <3 <3
This drawing is much appreciated.
Indeed I managed to bet the grip on the essence of their features
It what quite a challenge for me at that time, since it was one of my first drawings with colors, with the thin black contour lines. And one of my first Star Trek fanart.

I like the scene also because of that song Uhura sang to Spock. It was very daring! Nobody else ever told him such things O_O

As for myself, I'm impressed by digital art, notably because I've never ever tried it. It is totally alien to me ^^

Really?  One of your first?  It's excellent

Ah, digital art is so much easier for me....because it's so much easier to fix my mistakes   If you screw up with traditional art, it's really hard to put it right

Yes it is REALLY difficult to make corrections on a traditional drawing... Especially when I use the black contour line... This is totally unforgiving.
But more and more I get use to it, so that I'm switching now very rapidly from the initial sketch to actual black inking. Then colouring.

A totally newbie question: How do you make digital drawing? I mean, do you have a kind of special "pen" on a special pad connected to your computer? (I told you I'm a total alien to this). Or do you have a special device with a tactile screen on which you can "draw" and directly see what you're doing?

CameronKobe In reply to AloiInTheSky [2014-03-28 13:17:15 +0000 UTC]

There are various different ways, as you mentioned--both the "special 'pen' on a special pad" (stylus and graphics tablet) and "special device with a tactile screen" may be used by artists.  Some even draw using only a mouse!  The below is an amazing example of digital drawing with a mouse:

I personally use a graphics tablet and stylus

Thanks <3
I loved that scene too. It was one of the first I saw when I discovered StarTrek (not so long ago in fact !!).
When we know well the universe of (TOS) StarTrek, it was in fact incredible that Uhura dared to sing such words to Spock !! Nobody else did
I like the way Spock allows her to go on singing, half-resigned, half-amused. They are both so handsome. LOVE

Love the colours and style and the playful expressions. This is one of my fave tos scenes. 'Rip your heart from you' indeed. Pretty much the effect this fandom has on me lol
