Description
Very quick charcoal portrait of Erik Perrault (Phantom of the Opera) sorta inspired by his most recent incarnation, Gerard Butler (from the new movie). There's something about this character that I honestly first dismissed but am beginning to find intriguing....mwahaha look out, Amber's getting a new character obsession!

Hmm. Ive read it twice, I can tell you I honestly dont ever remember his last name mentioned. Perhaps it was and I missed it? I mean, if shes read it more than I have. Unless it wasnt mentioned then perhaps she felt compelled to give him a last name.

Well I read a fanfic by a lady named Harriet Renaud who claims to be obsessed with the original novel, so I figured she knew what she was talking about. Is it actually never mentioned? If not I might have some ideas of my own, MWAHAHAH XD

I dont recall his last name being mentioned in the original, although Ive read it twice. If shes read it more than me than perhaps I missed it or something. If its not mentioned maybe it was her idea for the Phan-fic story she wrote. I dont know.

Well was he born French or was his mother a gypsy? I understand at one point he got sold to/stolen by gypsies as a little boy.... hmmm.....yesss... intriguing XD

He was born French and ran away (according to Susan Kay, Leroux doesnt say I think...) and he was I think CAPTURED by Gypsies because I think he tried to steal from them. Not 100% certain though.

Okay that makes perfect sense honestly, he gets this later fixation with stealing and switching and hating people who have things he doesn't so psychologically it makes excellent sense...and he doesn't look like he'd be of like a Romanian ethnicity as much as European caucasian....I MUST GET MY HANDS ON THAT DAMN PASTICHE.... accckkk

I love this, it really captures the character's dark behavior and yet also the part of him that is somewhat sad and...hmm...classy is the best word I can think of to describe it. It's a great likeness of him and so nicely drawn! Awesome work.
