180AD ??? neither Varangians nor Constantinople are a thing at that date
this looks more like 280-380 AD not 180AD
it is great artwork , but wrong description

That under description is evidently to completely different artwork(which is obvious even from words " Harald Hardrada telling funny stories to his Varangians while sailing from Constantinople aboard Imperial ship"...hom many other persons you see in this pic,you see anybody talking being depicted? You see a ship and Constantinople?) .Its Deviantart error that sometimes hapens-it moved description from another pic I made here.Soldier depicted here shows what it says it shows in its main description:Lanciarius of Legio II Italica in 180 AD...you really think that I would consider this a Varangian guardsmen?
And by the way-this soldier definitelly dont look like from 380!!!...280-that could still be the case but he is from 180 and he do look like that.I can talk in detail about every single piece depicted.I know my stuff.

Superb work Amelianvs - love the detail like the edged greaves and the plume on the helmet. Sorely tempted to re-create this image at a future re-enactment event!

Great job once more!
Although I feel a hip quiver would have been better.
