I tried adding highlights to my black wig for Shadow, but it didn't work and it made me look like I murdered someone. However, I could do Shadow without the highlights now that I think about it.

I agree just the only thing that irritates me with some is they get the costume perfect but they leave their regular hair hanging out like if the character is blonde but they keep their brown hair instead and it just looks a little odd...

Not everybody likes or can afford to wear a wig. It might look odd but sometimes there's gotta be an exception. For example: The cosplayer might have made the outfit themselves and are too tired by the end of adding the final details.

My cosplays are never perfect
They should look nice but some people just can't afford cosplay like me which is why I always make mine :3 and I make it as close as it can be

I guess I'm lucky that I usually cosplay in the homestuck fandom, in which it's easier to cosplay if you're more heavy, as Andrew Hussie doesn't give us exact weights for the characters.

agree. i think they should try to make it look like the intended character and not half-ass it (but i can understand financal stuff). but over all it dosen't matter as long as you have fun. i went to natsucon as Patty Thompson from Soul Eater,even though i couldn't find ny poofy shorts and i have small boobs

Totally! Some people freak out if cosplay isn't perfect, but someone at a convention called my not-super-good, homemade Reimilia cosplay "cute". In your face stupid "cosplay must be perfect" people!!!

So true! All it is is for fun! A certain person on Youtube *cough*ProudCutePureAsian*cough* believes only Asians can cosplay and is totaly racists towards anybody who isn't 100% Asian, and their cosplay must be 100% perfect. (And he isn't who he says and never cosplays). This stamp is perfect!

ironically most Asians do not look right in cosplays because half the damn people in anime look white...i also have to add that honestly other races are also better(in a sense) then those in japan because while the cosplay isnt perfect they bring life to the character..most of the time they suffer in that department

So true. My mate is cosplaying a guy who wears jeans, a shirt and pumps. Thats it. Nothing else and yet he's refusing to just work with what he's got and is insisting in buying all new stuff to "get it right".
He's been "getting money" to do this for over a year now and hasn't made any progress.
Worst part is he's supposed to be cosplaying as part of a game that i'm cosplaying as with another friend.

You don't have to if you don't want to. Cosplay is a free representation of your support of favorite characters, same body shape or not.
