Seriously Bilbo, where are your hobbit manners? The king asked you a question and you just run away... Kidding; running away was a good plan.

This is my entry for ThranduilFans 's movie based contest. I didn't like many things about the movie Thranduil(the conversation he's having with Tauriel was...well...I'm pretending it didn't happen), but I did like the suggestion that he knew Bilbo was sneaking around his fortress. He wouldn't play hide and seek with his guards to say something like 'I know you are there' expecting an elf to come out of the shadows; plus Tauriel came out of the brightest place of the scene, clearly he wasn't talking to her. Or maybe it's just how I want to see things. I can't wait to see what he makes of Bilbo when he actually meets him.

The fact that Bilbo's shadow was visible is form the book (it wasn't probably that obvious though). Didn't want to draw this in ring mode.

Hope you like it. I'm looking forward to do the illustration for the winner.
