Ancestors Resting PlaceWhen I was visiting the stone andyserrano.deviantart.com/art… Buddhas in Nikko, Japan, I became curious about what was on the hill behind them. This cemetery is what I found.

do you know what's the tradition? do they put them under the ground or they first burn the body? I realy don't know, but since they are budhists they could be burning the body first....

Things brings up an interesting comparison I like to bring up with I see cemeteries from other countries. American cemeteries are usually stark with just grass and head stones. There may be a few trees, but not many. European graveyards are like huge overgrown and beautiful gardens with intricate monuments. Apparently, so are Japanese cemeteries.

There's this huge one I visited in Cologne, Germany, which has a huge Catholic population. Not only was it a beautiful garden, there were photos and candles everywhere. It was amazing.
