Another Deadmau5 head commission, this time for .This one was a bit more of a challenge, as this fabric has no stretch, so I had to pull out some sewing tricks to make it work.
All that's left to do on this bad boy is add the eyes and mouth, and it's good to go!

The mouth is made from a metal grating with a thin layer of spandex over it. As long as it's white or black, you can see fairly well out of them.

I built the sphere out of chipboard and then fiberglassed it so it would remain rigid.

Well, the machine sewing is really easy on these, it's the hand stitching that is sort of tricky. I did a lot of research into muppet/puppet making to learn the best way to hide seams and with which fabrics to use.
It's just like anything else really, the more time you put into the process, the better your end result will be!

Yep, I take orders for custom ones or the normal Deadmau5 style ones (the ones he wears...aka, red, blue, etc...)

I've used a few different things actually. I have used touch lights and acrylic balls most often though (the touch lights light up so they're cool but not very accurate, where as the acrylic balls are more accurate but need painted and LED's installed inside.
