Description This will be a short devo, but a very important one nonetheless

Proverbs 2:1-8
My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of his saints.

Wisdom is one of the most important traits every born-again believer should strive to possess. In a world of confusion and darkness, God is the only one who can lead us and light our path. We can receive wisdom by the Holy Spirit, who speaks through many methods. The most common method is through the Word of God. The Bible is a collection of poems, historical accounts, prophecies, parables, etc, all inspired by God as He spoke through the authors. It's alive, in the sense that the Holy Spirit can use it to transform and convict a genuine reader. We can learn so much as He moves through the pages and changes our hearts. Lots of wisdom can be gleaned from the Word, and we only need to ask God to help us find it.

James 1:5-8
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

So be sure to faithfully ask the Lord for wisdom and to continuously be in the Word of God. We should meditate on everything the Bible says daily and grow in our understanding of it. In this day and age, many of us have more access to the Bible than generations before and we should not take it for granted. God has spoken to us and given us access to the greatest redemption story to ever exist. For though we have sinned and fallen short of God's standard of perfection, we have newness of life in Christ who lived the perfect life we couldn't, took the punishment we deserved onto Himself, died, was buried, rose from the dead, has paid our sin debt in full, and is coming again soon as the Reigning King.

Colossians 4:2-6
Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison—that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak. Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

God bless, and have a great day~
