With her cup half full and filled with optimism, Tsubasa rarely become the type to feel down or sad. When she does it usually never really lasts long as she just finds ways to brighten her day. She is a hearty person and very loyal to those who have deemed a worthy role in her daily life. Naturally a lively and cheerful girl with high energy and alertness her weak heart is no longer able to keep up with her. That is why Tsubasa likes to be challenged in ways she is still capable of being challenged; through the violin. It is why she plays her violin with such high energy and power because she simply has too much of it to spend and no other ways to release it.

Not letting her heart condition beat her spirits down or be an obstacle to pursue her dreams she tends to keep this a secret from those who solely have no need to know. She doesn’t like to be depicted as weak or in any need of any special privileges just because of her illness. Her wish is to be treated like any other person who gets a fair chance, who has to work just as hard and be just as passionate about something they love. Any other way it would just not sit right with her.

Having to drop sports she used to practice out of her daily activities she has come to love the thrill of performing on her violin instead. With her high amount of energy she also spends a lot of time practicing and is the one who always seems to extend practice with at least 10 more minutes. Usually even longer as she is a hard working girl and passionate about her violin play and chasing her ultimate dream of becoming the best violinist out in the whole universe... and further beyond.

Besides all of that, Tsubasa is one to be really meticulous about her violin play. She practices the same piece over and over until she is able to perfect it. However she never really feels satisfied with her violin play, thinking that it lacks something. It being emotion. This stemming from her overflowing positivity and high energy that she doesn’t really know and how to use this to her advantage when putting emotion to her violin play. Tsubasa also doesn’t really allow herself to feel sadness and thus isn’t able to play heart wrenching pieces to their full extent.

Despite being a ray of sunshine she and her emotions are still quite transparent to those watchful eyes. Her emotions are most of the time still quite visible on her face albeit her trying to cover it up with a big smile and tons of positivity. She stands for her rights and annoyingly of those of others without question as well. She doesn’t really know when to back down or read the situation as her head can be a little dense and clouded with thoughts. All in all she is that annoying morning person who unleashes her powers on those who have not woken up before she has.

TLDR: Lively and lovely family raised her to be a chivalrous and with optimism filled tomboy. Dedicated most of her childhood on sports until hospitalized. Left with a weakened heart she had herself a wake up goal and lifestyle change. Is now on the road to pursuing her true dream by attending Clefford Conservatory.

Born in a lively and lovely small family, Tsubasa was raised to live her life with the utmost optimism. Her parents taught her how important it was for her to be herself and to learn the ways of facing every challenge as it comes. Sharing was caring and how even the smallest of smiles or acts of kindness could brighten peoples days.

At the age of 4 her mother took her to watch a ballet performance hoping to ignite an interest and passion for ballet. However, as pretty and confusing the story the ballet performance told it was not ballet itself that took her interest but the music. In particular the sound of the cello telling the story of the ballet through sound.

Struck with awe by the beauty of the music finding its way to her ears she quickly found herself wanting to listen to more of that type of ‘sound’. Thinking that it came from the cello it became clear to her mother just how much Tsubasa liked the cello and supported her passion. It wasn’t long before her mother bought her her own cello and signed her up for cello lessons. Tsubasa then became the only other musician within the Kondo family, next to her belated grandfather.

She played her cello with a lot of dedication but soon found that her true affinity had been with the violin. How could such a small instrument make those beautiful sounds? She gradually switched over to the violin, finding it much more challenging and exhilarating, however much to her parents dismay because these music instruments didn’t come cheap. What more, as she grew up and met other people and got introduced to new things she soon found other interests that took her time and effort such as sports. Tsubasa grew up becoming a tomboy and started to enjoy practicing ice hockey, soccer, swimming and karate at the age of 10; trying out as many sports as she could for the sheer joy of experience and excitement. But at the age of 12 she found herself unable to really progress and improve herself when it came to sports. She came to the conclusion that she was simply trying to do too much and so decided to drop a few of these activities. At 14 she mainly shared her time amongst the violin, ice hockey and karate but had still started to neglect her violin albeit still absolutely being in love with it’s sound.

Not two years later she found herself often having this feeling of discomfort on her chest and unable to breathe when she was vigorously spending her time playing ice hockey or practicing karate. Ignoring the symptoms for many months she eventually found herself being hospitalized several weeks. The doctors diagnosed her with Myocarditis caused by a reaction from a wasp sting. Due to certain complications it had left her with a weakened heart that would be unable to keep up with her strenuous activities. During those weeks however Tsubasa found comfort in listening to the sound of the violin and (and the Beach Boys) was realized how much it and music itself actually meant to her. How much she needed it in life. It was that moment that she had decided that she should take this second chance, this awakening call and opportunity to pursue what she really wanted instead of these activities that didn’t quite give her the satisfaction and could possibly endanger her life.

With her new goal set and having to adapt to her new lifestyle she abandoned her sports activities so she could focus on what she truly wanted, which included attending Clefford Conservatory months later after being discharged and recovered to the best of her efforts.

Not quite favoring any particular composer, she typically enjoys pieces that are elegant, playful and intense or either very sad and emotional. If she had to pick a favorite composer though she would likely pick Vivaldi. She is not quite fond of pieces that are either build too soft or too slow and have no to little progression; saying they feel too sluggish for her type of violin sound.

Of course with the exception of Schubert’s Ave Maria as it holds a dear place in her heart. It is one of the pieces she thoroughly enjoys playing but struggles with to perfect due to its amount of emotion and slower tempo.
She is never satisfied with the way she plays this particular piece and thinks she can always better herself.

Tsubasa is one that lives for compositions that can challenge her as she adores playing her violin with the same amount of energy she possesses and prefers. Noting from her favorites, she tends to have a preference for Allegro’s or Finale’s of compositions because of the amount of intensity and typical faster tempo’s one can find in them. She excels most at playing precise, practiced notes and fast tempos but has a real talent for lacking emotion in her work as well.
