Description
So, to follow up on trying to improve drawing "the right face" a bit more, I doodled the same character again, but in a somewhat easier composition xD
I did not quite succeed, buuuuut it's pretty close.
I re-painted the face about 5 times before I was ok enough with the result to move on; over-practicing on one thing doesnt really work for me, so doing a seperate new thing becomes more useful.
I also took this as more colouring practice, and I think that worked out quite well :3
At first, I only had a flat grey background, but I wanted to try something with it so I added the roses and hinted a building. Adding the elements was pretty low effort... But gawd, getting it to work together...
The lines of the roses are actually just a default pattern brush, but by shading them and fading them nicely I think I managed to make it work quite well. I basically never use pattern brushes because it almost always just looks detached... So this was really interesting :3
The building was just the selector tool plus a gradient.
I added some quick mist and cloud effects and lots of lighting to make everything look like it was kinda in the same scene, and it seems to have worked pretty well
