now this should be in your print store. Add a little dynamics with curves filter and you have an awesome shot.

I played around with the lighting a little - finally scrapped my changes and left it original. Perhaps I'll try it again. And yes, I'll put this in the store when I have time!!!

Thank you! If you read the story, you'll know why I stopped here... someone else commented that perhaps I should have moved over a bit and left even more space between the tree and hay - but by the time i got this far - it was time to GO!

Yeah I think it was probably a good idea to get OUT of there!

very nice colours and a good relaxed feel to the shot if anything id have put a little more space inbetween the tree and the bale by moving slightly to the left, but thats just me being picky as usual!

You just lived out my greatest fear... I was taking some shots of steer and turned around and almost walked right into a police car... he just smiled and asked if I was taking pictures of the beef... it was tense before he smiled though... lots and lots of no trespassing signs around here too... and can't figure out for the life of me why... like what the heck are people going to steal... it's always been my belief that the best way to invite a thief is to post a no trespassing sign... it makes em wonder what you got of value that you don't want people seeing. I do be very careful of photographing barns because not too long ago a guy was busted near here because he had hundreds of pounds of reefer in his barn... would have probably got shot for real trying to get a picture of his barn!

that's cool ... i've seen several shots of these big bales of hay at sunset or whenever... and never quite did one that worked for me. when I spotted this tree, just standing there, thought i'd kill two birds with one stone... take some pics of the hay, and some of the tree... it wasn't till i put the two together that i was really happy with the composition, though!

nice composition, love the little lights in the distance. Would like to see a tad more definition in the hay stack though

I actually used the flash on the first couple of shots, but I thought it didn't look very natural so by the time I took this one I was just using the plain old camera.

Let's just say it's 'in progress' but it's frustrating me... I see what you mean but if I lighten it enough to see the difference then it looks weird around it... I need to put a bit more work in my 'selection' tool, i think...

Thank you, I appreciate it... I took several shots before I got the right 'feel' to it!
