i love the removable panels and the mass of articulation! i also like that you know what kind of guns it is sporting, ussually its just 'gun' or 'machine gun' i want to fight this thing (as or against i dont care) in an armored core or front mission type game. your design is their robots without being 'just another robot'. the chain gun is sweet looking from all angles and the vents on the tail are nice

Man, I can only imagine the time and effort to build this physically....I hope for your sake that you designed at least some of it in 3D before you started building <3

ARMAMENTFACTORY In reply to Epyon3001 [2010-07-17 15:49:05 +0000 UTC]

thanks

it took 24 working days, and nope, I designed it with just a few sheets of paper & a pencil. I worked out the geometry & parts fit/placement all in my head. this project is 100% "unplugged".

xxVectorZeroxx In reply to ARMAMENTFACTORY [2012-05-31 13:09:06 +0000 UTC]

my reworking of your design is going to have a 3d model eventually, just need to work it out on paper first, that way i can get the mechanics to hold through a "deployment sequence" from flat on the ground to mobile

btw, if i scaled this to real life, what am i looking at? 5-8 meters tall? ish? i need to compare it to a human sized object or somthing so i can start working up specs, also, the ligament armor is pretty heavy, i might have a hard time getting a descent engine on it if we are going with 7.62 weapons armor at that thickness.

Darn, I love the detail. I always curious modelling using PVC. Is there tutorial for that? To make something like this ?

i've always wanted to open up my own mecha sculpting studio where folks can bring the creations to life, and then make garage kits. when you've got a great design, it brings in gooooooood money ;D

Rob-Cavanna [2010-07-10 21:04:49 +0000 UTC]

That is a truly excellent and well polished design. I totally missed out on the fact that it had wheels before -until I saw the sketch. Which is probably a good sign that they're well protected.

Like the best types of sculpture -it's beautiful and interesting from all angles. Really well done, man!

ARMAMENTFACTORY In reply to Rob-Cavanna [2010-07-11 03:19:41 +0000 UTC]

thanks

I designed it way back in '05, then it took this much time to get to its present version.
and I still feel it needs a little improvement.

Just a quick question; This was inspired by G.I.T.S. right? I'm seeing quite a few possible influenced parts here and there...

ARMAMENTFACTORY In reply to SABAHN [2010-07-11 03:12:19 +0000 UTC]

there's a little bit of GITS in it, but it's mostly influenced by the German Leopard 2A6 MBT plus a few other elements.
